Obviously a lot of the player models will be British SWAT and Military and whatnot, because:
A) It takes place in England (Or, the mod did.)
B) I'm sure the government won't just let citizens sit there and die, they'll send someone to help.
But there are many more player models that come to my mind when thinking "outbreak"
Such as HAZMAT units. If a building was infected, the cause is unknown, I'm sure chemical/biological warfare would be something the government suspects, thus sending HAZMAT units in.

Seen in the picture are multiple HAZMAT units on a Navy boat due to some sort of chemical spill.
When you think of Britain, and then Military, one special forces group comes to mind specifically. SAS, or Special Air Service. SAS commonly preform counter-terrorism operations. I think SAS would be a nice player model to include, I'm sure the country would send in their finest to help out.

Seen in the picture are 3 SAS raiding a house.
The next player model I would like to see is a Riot police model. I'm sure we've ALL seen riot police on TV. Riot police are usually depicted wearing helmets with facemasks and with their shields. In the mod, they obviously wouldn't have the shield unless they had it on their back, unusable.

Seen in the picture are 2 riot police, in the picture you can see the helmets I referred to earlier.
And of course with all these, you would have different variations of them. Like an Orange hazmat suit, White Hazmat suit, that way not everyone looks like identical copies. In the SAS, some could be wearing helmets, some not, some wearing Gas Masks, some not. Some of them could have, say, urban camoflauge instead of the black seen. For Riot police, some would have the visor of the mask up, some would be wearing a balaclava, some with nothing over their face, some with a gas mask, some without. Just with the 3 suggestions given above you could have several variations of each.
Next, the system on which they would work. You could have Class Specific models. Say there is a "support" class (there might be or might not be, I'm just giving an example), people playing support would be limited to the SAS model group (all variations) and say, regular British Army model group "all variations). Or you could have what the mod "Insurgency" for HL2 uses, and have you customize your own model with dropdown menus and a screen showing what he looks like. You would choose a "Base" model, which would be an SAS, Riot Police, Hazmat, British Army, etc. model with default gear. Once there you would choose the helmet, mask, colors, etc. from different dropdown menus. You could also have pre-set models and put them in the "options" such as the Ut2004 mod "Killing Floor" did. And what I would preferrably say, is to use random player models. Everyone is assigned a random model when the map starts, and they keep the model till the map changes, then they are assigned another model. This would keep people from looking like clones, due to the fact you could have multiple SAS models, multiple Army models, multiple Hazmat models, etc. With enough variations you could have a 25 man server (not that you would ever want that many) and have everyone with a different player model.
