New thing: frequent 0.5sec pauses

I'll come out and say it. Until the player numbers increase, PB is irrelavent and more of an annoyance and a headache than the occasional cheater we may come across. At this point, VAC and an active admin run rings about EvenBalance and their PB.

I also got a performance drop on top of the PB freezing with the last updates. 10-20fps down the drain for no apparent reason, yay.

The delightful part about PB screenshots (if that's what it is) is that I'm running in 5760 x 1200, so when my game pauses, it REALLY pauses, to the tune of 1-1.5 seconds. Game is nigh unplayable as a result.

Hm, I played some yesterday, and it seems all the good servers have turned PB off by now, and I did not have the freezes anymore.

gonna put in some more killing time this am and see. how can we confirm pb isn't running beside the little pb icon in the server list?

why doesn pb take screenshots of us playing anyway?

I don't think it's related to the screenshots. On our server auto ss was off and we did experience the stutters too. It was gone after we switched of PB completely. I checked the PB svss folder on our server and no screen shots were there. Meaning it didn't make any screenshots, right?

Im sure that those problems are a thing of Punkbuster, i think that adding Pb for anticheat tool was the worst decision Twi has made. I remember other games that i have played in the past that Pb made some problems.

Evenbalance tried to get PBSS working, means more control for serveradmins, and there is some issue with the code... they will have to fix it soon, but only flaming at evenbalance and pb won

Yeah, me too. I haven't played more than 2 rounds a day since because it was so annoying.
