EDIT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry to be the barer of bad tidings. We've found an issue whereby a player attempting to disconnect from a server while still in a vehicle will cause the server to shut down. We need to fix this. If you'd still like to continue running a KFVM server while this is being looked into there are a couple of measures you can take.

1) Put 'DO NOT DISCONNECT WHILE IN A VEHICLE' in your server name, joining message of the day, or server message mutator.

2) Set your server to reboot on a crash should someone inadvertantly not heed the warning. A script we borrowed from RO is as follows. Edit as per your server setup.

Code:
@echo off
title KFVM Server
echo Look at the top of the window.
echo.
cd C:\KFVMServer\system
set GameText===== KFVM Server ====
set GameCmd=C:\KFServer\system\ucc server KF-WestLondon_KFVM.rom?game=KF_Vehicles_BD.BDGameType?VACSecured=true?MaxPlayers=6? -log=server.log
echo %GameText%
echo.
echo This is the %GameText% Auto Runner
echo To Restart the server close the corresponding Game
echo To Shut down the server close this window.
echo.
set LogFile="%homepath%\Desktop\Logs\%GameText%.log"
echo Output is logged to %LogFile%
echo.
echo This is the command line: >>%LogFile%
echo %GameCmd% >>%LogFile%
:start
echo ReStarting %GameText%
date/t
time/t
echo ReStarting %GameText% >>%LogFile%
date/t >>%LogFile%
time/t >>%LogFile%
call %GameCmd%
goto start
Make a 'Logs' folder on the 'desktop' to contain a log file this script will create. It will show you how many times the server reboots. The command line also makes a server.log file in the system folder but this will get overwritten on each restart.

========================================================

Well, release day has arrived and if you're eager to get in there here's the download main page link.

YouTube - Multistorey Carpark for the Killing Floor Vehicle Mod

Available Downloads
There are currently 3 download files to choose from as follows:

Killing Floor Vehicle Mod - Version 1001 (Auto)
This download contains all of the necessary mod files for the Killing Floor Vehicle Mod as a self executable file but without the maps. This is a small download of about 30mb. It will allow you to join a dedicated server that will typically have the maps on a download redirect. The installer will add the mod files to your default Killing Floor folder location and requires a few simple clicks. If your Killing Floor installation is in a custom location you can use the browse feature to locate the main Killing Floor folder.

Killing Floor Vehicle Mod - Version 1001 (Manual)
This download contains all of the necessary mod files for the Killing Floor Vehicle Mod for manual installation. This is a small download of about 34mb. It will allow you to join a dedicated server that will typically have the maps on a download redirect. This installation is beneficial for server hosts and gamers who prefer not to use self executable files.

Killing Floor Vehicle Mod - Map Pack 1
This download contains all of the Killing Floor Vehicle Mod maps. It is a large download of about 151mb. This is necessary for server hosts and gamers who would like to play the mod in solo mode. You will need to manually add the maps to your Killing Floor Maps folder.

It is also possible to play the mod without requiring any active installation on the part of the client by joining a server that has all of the mod files on a download redirect. This way you will be able to simply join a server running the mod and have the files downloaded to a cache folder.

Don't forget there's a KFVM_Readme text file in your Killing Floor folder for auto installers and in the main directory of the zipped folder for manual installers.

Thank you to TW Forum members for your continued support and feedback during the development process and we wish you a lot of carrrazy vehicle mayhem. Thanks also to the Beta testers, and Jestservers.com and Sandcrawler.net for server and file hosting. A final BIG shout to the TWI team for your continued professional support for this fine game.

Good release, how come it dosent auto update on steam ?
ive extract the files to the folder paths but when i go to host a game , i dont have the option to host a KF-FenceTespmap.rom map.

This mod falls into the community released bracket and will only be available through third party channels.

Did you also download the full map pack? It contains 15 more maps. Launching as a host requires turning on the mutator as well. Did you do that as per the KFVM_Readme in the Killing Floor folder.

if i am not hosting and want to find servers with the vechile mod , how do i launch the mod ?, you kinda dont explain much in the read me

If you're joining a server already running the mod then you don't need to launch it manually. You'll either join the server using your own installed files or download them directly from the server. Look for maps with _KFVM as a suffix. There are also a few ips in the first post. Some of them will change over time and may even get taken down but there'll always be something.

Good question. You can simply upload everything compressed to uz2 format into your redirect folder without needing any file hierarchy. The Unreal Engine is good like that.

Our server has:
BDVehicle_NP.utx.uz2
BDVehicle_SB.usx.uz2
BDVehicle_T.utx.uz2
BDVehicles.ukx.uz2
BDVehicles_A.uax.uz2
BDVehicles_S.usx.uz2
BDVehiclesB.ukx.uz2
KF_Vehicles_BD.u.uz2
+ all of the mapname_KFVM.uz2 files all in the same folder.

Thanks arramus, server is now up and running.

Lovely. I hopped in the Suicidal Muppet server and it made the dynamics very interesting. One benefit for the player is that the Zeds are so much faster and get into a high density clump quicker much to my delight. However, the slightest error and it's all downhill from there. Thanks for setting up the server for the KFVM.

I have changed the name to MuppetSquad Vehicles, and dropped the difficulty down to hard (until I get the hang of the vehicles/maps)

The server is actually hosted at my shop Sussex Computer Repair centre - [URL="http://www.screpairs.co.uk"][URL="http://www.screpairs.co.uk"][url]http://www.screpairs.co.uk[/URL][/URL][/URL]

Les

Thank you to the Sussex Computer Repair Centre for hosting. Not from far where I spent a few years in my youth. I used to live in Downsway off the Upper Shoreham Road.

Good call in changing the difficulty. I've updated the server list to reflect the changes.

Most important question;
Can we shoot the players driving minicoopers even if friendly fire is off?

In earlier builds you could destroy the vehicle and players contained within but it became exploitable and wouldn't maintain a good server harmony once the initial novelty wore off. In this release you will not be able to damage the vehicles and those within by shooting them.
