In September's 2019 State of the Game Update, the QoL update was said to arrive "in the coming weeks"

"As you are most likely aware, Antimatter Games, who did the majority of development work on Rising Storm 2: Vietnam have been acquired by Toadman and announced they are working exclusively on a new title of their own. As such, they are no longer actively developing RS 2. While we work on the longer-term implications of that, there are a number of issues we are aware of and are actively working to fix for you in the coming weeks, including but not limited to:

  • Whitelist updates for new mods/mutators
  • Servers intermittently going deranked
  • “Black screen” during Campaign Mode under certain circumstances
More on this over the next few weeks. And as always, thank you for being fans of the Red Orchestra and Rising Storm franchise. "

September was 10 months ago, surely in those "coming weeks" we would have heard progress, something?

Builds were made to generate more logs to try and determine what was breaking, which resulting in it not catching the event and more builds with more logging being made. These were tested in both private and one public setting via a volunteer server. However progress was not as fast as we would have liked, and then it was impacted by the current world situation.

As far as I am aware, it is still the goal to get a final update out.

The lack of whitelisting has also directly led to the Talvisota: Winter War mod being essentially dead on arrival.

This game has mods and mutators that add replay value to an otherwise dead game, but by god they need to be whitelisted, or complete removal of the system.

Mods/mutators include:
- Talvisota: Winter War (there is only one server that gets populated still and most days it does not get full. If WW was ranked it would go miles. It is a shame with all the work of the Winter War devs put into the mod only for it to be dead on arrival because players cannot rank up in it)
-
Teamkill logging mutator (this game is $7 once every 3 months, there are a ton of trolls that some with the sales. we need means to combat this)
- Hardcore Ruleset mutator (More Damage mutator, for servers wishing to run a more unforviging experience)

It is not a matter of "whitelisting is put in place to combat mega server". Mega server is STILL listed in the server browser and has multiple listing/redirects. Mega has been in the server browser for several months now as well, despite being reported. Mega server currently has 3 listing in the browser as of the time i write this comment.

If the very problem the whitelisting system was put in place to combat is not being solved, then why leave it in anyways? All whitelisting has done is killed any custom content that the game had while Mega Server continues to reappear and left unchallenged

you've been saying the same thing for the past 10 months with nothing to show for it. either just give up the facade and say your skeleton crew isnt bothering anymore, or get more support for this game.

-Dshk won't respawn
-Instanced rendering makes the grass/shadows flicker, random object flickering
-Can't climb over certain objects (getting stuck)
-Sometimes guns shoot with no sound randomly/gun sounds too quiet
-Game lets you build a tunnel in certain places, and then fails every single time you try to (fails at the last second)
-Random stuttering
