How to fix winsock 10106

Did you try verifying game?
I have the same issue. Connected directly to the modem verified integrity of my game and updated my drivers while running it on dx10.

This issue is still happening, I can not join any online games. Everytime I tried to enter any game I found it'll just fail to initiate networking layer.

Please someone tell me how to fix this?

The particular port is most likely being used by some other background program and by that it doesn't allow any other program to connect to it.

You can check this by typing netstat -ab in a windows command window while KF2 is not running. It will gather a list of all ports currently in use together with the file (.exe) that is using the port.

I spent about about 4 and a half hours this morning trying to fix this and feel like an idiot now because it could have been fixed within a few minutes.
I did all the steps that everyone mentioned for fixing errors (deleting the kf2 folder in my documents/my games, verifying game cache, updating drivers etc) and nothing of the sort worked.
When the error popped up for me I got a message saying "initialising network error. Winsock: Socket failed (10106)" so I ended up looking beyond steam and kf and looked at resetting my pc's winsock.
Takes a few mins, just requires a command in cmd and a restart. Hope this helps you guys! :D
