Server Hosting Guides

Beyond this (http://wiki.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php?title=RO2_Dedicated_Server) guide, is there anything specifically written for hosting RS2 Vietnam yet?

I'm familiar with steamCMD and hosting other games in the past, just curious if I should be looking anywhere or using any other resource? Thanks.

There is no guide currently. But it's pretty much exactly the same as RS/RO2. Only some slight differences. I am too lazy to write up guide.

Command line seems to have new things in it though. You can enable webadmin from it, set the webadmin port, and other ports the server uses. Example:

VNGame.exe VNTE-Compound?Port=7777?MaxPlayers=64?AdminPassword=superSecretPassword?EnableWebAdmin=true?WebAdminPort=8080 -log=ServerLog.log -MultiHome=123.123.123.123 -QueryPort=27015 -UNATTENDED

You can't set the Steam port though, it is automatically set from the game port..

Another question, which app_update number is associated with RS2 Vietnam specifically? Is it the same as red orchestra (212542) or is another?

Usually yes. But it did not work for RS2 on release day. Only Anonymous login worked.

Working fine for me when:

login anonymous
force_install_dir ../vietnam/
app_update 418480 validate

Ive also used my actual SteamID before as well - either method seems to be working fine; including the hot patch they just released today as per the TWI ServerAdmin mailing list.

Actually I install a lot of different servers and they now often require you to use anonymous login. We'll repeat that never enough, but server admins should subscribe to the TWI Server Admins Mailing List where they dispatched these information on release, it is also found here https://forums.tripwireinteractive.c...s-server-files rare are the game which require you to own the game in the steam account you use with steamcmd.
