Do you like free-aim when using iron sights?

I think we can all agree that having free-aim in normal hipped mode is a good thing to have. It's basically essential in a game with no crosshairs.
However, what's your opinion on free-aim in iron sights mode? Personally, I'd like to see an option to turn it off.

I like it. Did take a while to get used to it, but now it feels natural.

And I would not like an option to turn it off, unless it was server-based of course. Such features should be the same for all players on a server to ensure equal playing conditions.

i can't vote cause i'm not sure what the term "free aim" means. if it's not having a cross-hair in the middle of the screen, then i'm fine with that. i like having to use iron sights to score a precision hit. but what's this "free aim in iron sights"?

It means that when you move your mouse, your weapon's position relative to the screen changes (ie, it doesn't stay in the center).

oh so you mean the front sights come off balance with the rear sights? so the weapon kinda sways a bit until you realign them (take aim)? yeah, i like that. gives me a realistic feel to it.

No, free-aim has nothing to do with sights unaligning. It's about the position of the whole gun on the screen.

well, i never noticed it before (or it might've been buried in my subconsciousness) so a minute ago i jumped into a stress-free environment to see what happens and i have absolutely no problem with it. the weapon being off-center when you move it. i don't know what the big deal is, you still have to aim.

so, my answer to the poll-question is yes.

Nope. Hate it. The vertical aspect of it isn't too bad, but the horizontal free aim is just annoying.

i'm with bifutake, i really don't understand free aim too well. i saw a video description a while back but forgot about it.
what i do know, is that i'm perfectly fine with how my rifles aim and would not want them to change. i can't comment on wether to have a button to disable it, cause i don't understand what benefits it might give to the people who shut it off.
p.s. i chose not to vote. i'm not qualified. now if the vote was "are you happy with the way the guns aim", i'd have voted yes.

Its a good feature, one of the things RO2 does that is advancing the fps genre. I hope to see it in more games in the future.

Slightly off topic, but I wish they implemented free look, like in Arma, where you can move your head independent from your body.

The center of your screen is supposed to be the center of your vision. If you're aiming down your sights, there isn't any reason why your gun shouldn't be at the exact center of your field of vision with everything else moving in relation to where you're looking. I think it's absolutely absurd that it operates the way it does.

I like it the way it is, and shudder at the thought of aiming not being consistent across all servers.

Wasn't it a feature to stop pop-up shots on the same spot? It may be redundant at this point for that.

It does stop people from taping, as you could aim with tape, while bringing up the rifle to IS before the shot.
