3D & Animation Changing equipment and clothing

Hi folks,

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right part of the forum or if I should be in the "2d - Texture, Skinning" part, but I am going to start here in any case.

While doing research for my late war (Jan., 1945) map, I've run across a number of books with great photos of that particular period of the war. I'm finding that a lot of German soldiers were not wearing their helmets into battle, and were wearing their M1943 field caps instead. See example below:

Now, my question is this...how do I change out the headgear (or other clothing items, equipment, etc,) for the ROGERole actors.

For example, I want the rifleman and the Pak Soldats to be wearing this field cap instead of their M1942 helmets. I know the model and skin for this field cap exists in the packages because you see the Panzer Fuhrer and Squad Leaders wearing them.

Any help or links to step-by-step tutorials - or other resources - would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nobody here knows the answer to this question?

It seems like I should be making a change to the coding on the Character.uc file or something of that nature, and saving it under a different name and placing it in the RORoles folder. I've Googled all over the place and can't find an answer to this conundrum.

So now, I come on bended knee to my beloved RO community for some help. Help me to make this map as realistic as possible a scenario so that all of you guys can enjoy playing on it!

If nobody wants to write out detailed instructions, then a link to an online resource would be just as good. I'm a purty smart fella and can probably figure it out from there

Admin: If this post should more appropriately belong in the coding forum, please feel free to move it.

Hello,

I am working on a mod for tank crews for our servers at the 10pzDiv (we are clan that specialises in tanks and tank maps www.ro-panzerdivision.de)

We want to make the faces a bit darker (as they glow too brightly in our opinion, generally we have made most of our tank skins 40 per cent less bright than they were and it works well there)

We also want to place new and darker uniforms on our crews, also with our divisional markings on the shoulder boards and so on.

I have done the textures, that is no problem as it is a hobby of mine (we have reskinned the whole RO fleet of tanks so far) however when I try to place the texture on the mesh using the SDK programme it does not stick.

I have no problems changing out tank skins however the tanks crew and infantry skins change in the SDK but then are somehow changed back when tested in game. It is as though the game rewrites the original uniform and face skins back over the changes I have made.

I know this mod can be done, as others have done it with custom uniforms etc, my question is how? What special thing do I have to do that is different to the tank skins that I am able to change out?

I hope you can help.

Thanks

Alan
