Has anyone heard of this company before?

I was looking for a bit of info but there is hardly anything out there, TWI's deal with gator appears on top pretty much of google.

their website doesn't show a whole lot either.
http://www.gator-team.com/

All I remember from something like gator was spyware that was included with a lot of freeware programs in the past. A bit like that horrible bonzai buddy. I'm just wondering what sort of things they do, or what previous games they published. But after changing names twice that company went bust in 2008 afaik.

That was gator.com (they have since undergone an image revamp, or got bought out or something and I don't believe they are as evil.. ).. Only reason I even know this is because I work for a company that operates a similar domain, so we got a ton of mis-directed email complaining about gator.com.

Gator is actually a popular pre/suf-fix , doubly so in my particular geographic region, so don't careful associating anything with "gator" in the title with that crappy gator company from years past.

As for gator-team.com being a buncha hacks, I'm pretty sure TWI likes having thier money.. so I can only assume they have looked into the company sufficiently enough to know that whomever they publish with isn't a scam (beyond that of any other publisher..)

Gator provide us with publishing services - this means that they do stuff like the manufacturing, accounting, order-handling and, most importantly for us, the selling direct to the retailers. That last part is important to us :)

For Tripwire fans, you should also keep in mind that Gator are GROWING as specialists in PC game distribution, as the "big boys" lose interest in publishing for the PC gamer.

We are still the publisher - they provide services to help us as we grow the publishing business - or we'd have to start employing salesmen and stuff ourselves.
