Critical blue screen crash since update

I've play this game since release.
Now dealing with a critical crash since update.

I have not changed my system or anything extreme or odd.

Crashes will randomly happen in ONLINE play.
A hunch tells me it's from server communication/overload/incorrect data exchange.


Okay, the crash works as such. I'll be playing any mode/map/class doesn't matter.

Game will suddenly stop & crash to blue screen.
It suggests to turn off some sort of settings in the BIOS (if this has happened before) & it reads out "DUMPING PHYICAL DATA TO HARD DISK....0%.......>>>>>>%100.
There is a lot to read on the blue screen but, it only takes 5 seconds or so before comp restarts.

Once the data is moved the computer will restart, I log in. Windows reports "windows has recovered from an unexpected error".
Nothing much eles...
That is all to report on the critial blue screen crash.


I HAVE VERIFIED STEAM FILE INTEGRITY. 100%
I HAVE SET KF TO RUN USING WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3.
I HAVE SET KF TO RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
I HAVE DEFRAGMENTED MY HDDs.

I will now update my video card drivers.

Please explain how to post my .log file & any other files that will be helpfull.
I will take a screen shot or save the blue screen crash if you know how to do that (I don't).



PC SPECS
HP XW6200
WINDOWS 7 PRO 64-bit
Geforce Sparkle GT 9800+ GXT+ 1G (video card supports DX 10)
4GB RAM
(2x CPU) 3.2ghz intel CPU
(2 HHDs) 150GB & 250GB

I run video settings @ medium normally, can play many games no problem. MW2, L4D, etc.

Assuming your computer is set up to store minidump logs, you can browse to your windows\minidump directory and zip up and post any minidump files in there (they should be small). The KF logfile is stored in you steam\steamapps\killingfloor\system directory called killingfloor.log.

Okay, I updated the nvidia driver's to the lastest (dated 10.18.10)

Played a game of KF, 10 minutes or so, got the same blue screen crash.
I could read in the technical information something involving "CTAUD2K.SYS"

I found the windows/minidumps & the Killing Floor log

There are attached to this post.

Something in the log about "unable to load class" "NULL CLASS" etc.

Looks like the Creative sound driver issue. For a quick fix, make sure that in the options "use system driver" is ticked. If you use surround sound, read the following post: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showpost.php?p=611051&postcount=69

That sure sounds a lot like the Creative Audigy driver. I should know, i have a Audigy 2ZS myself, without the bluescreens.

Yes I have a Creative fatality extreme gamer sound card.
I have 2.1 speakers & headset/mic.

The creative driver's are up-to-date
I added killing floor to the Creative Alchemy game's list.

I also turned off run in compatibility mode as Windows XP SP3 & administrator, Because I didn't ever use that before.


Okay let's play some KILLING FLOOR GAMERS!!!!!!

Game is running perfect. Thank you so much.

Turned the graphics down as well, game looks fantastic anyway!
