Installation for Dedicated Servers

1. Place:

KFModsPerkReplacement1011.u
KFModsPerkReplacement1011.ucl

in your system folder.

2. Add the following entry to the bottom of your KillingFloor.ini

[KFModsPerkReplacement1011.MutPerkReplacement]
PerkStartLevel=6
bAllowRepickAfterDeath=True

Change the PerkStartLevel= number to a number of your choice to a maximum of 6.
Allow bAllowRepickAfterDeath= to be True or False.

3. Requires the 2K4Menus.utx texture from your client to server textures folder.

4. Start your server and in the Web Admin Interface select the Perk Selector 1011 (Replacement) Mutator.
Hit 'Set Selected Mutators' and then restart the map. The Perk Replacement Mutator 1011 will now be functional.

Due to the nature of this Mutator, it will not (and deservedly so) be whitelisted. However, it is useful for KF mods where all perks will be lost.

I just updated this mutator as it had a bug in that you could only select up to Level 5 in the in game selection area. You'll now be able to select Level 6. Download from the top link again.

And here's an example of how to change levels for Solo mode.

Once you're in Solo mode > Select the Mutators Tab > Add Perk Selector 1011 to the Active Mutators > Hit the Configure Mutators Tab > Edit as per your specifications.

I took a revisit to the mutator files and made an update so that we can select Level 6 in the in game GUI. This is the first mutator I'd ever touched and didn't really know what I was looking at (and still don't :)) but I managed to find what's what on this occasion.

Thanks a lot for instantly giving support on this though and good to see the goodies you're working on in this area of the forum as well.

One thing people have been asking for with this mut is the possibility to change class at any point without having to die first. If you want to get your teeth into that I know it'd make a lot of people happy.

It could be possible, but I'm not THAT experienced at coding lol

i love everything about this mutator........one thing i noticed, i know you can select to change perks after death, but can it be allowed to change perks between waves like it normally is? i tried to change perks at the trader after wave 2 in solo, but it didn't seem to register. can anyone confirm that you can change perks in between waves without having to die?

This could probably be possible via key aliases. You know what? I think I might just make selecting perks between waves possible if I try hard enough.

There are times when players would spawn and it wouldn't prompt for a perk to use, so all of us were without perks. :confused: Is there an incompatibility with the roll the dice mutator?

Furthermore, if you press Esc I believe at the opening screen, you can enter the game without a perk. Is there a way to disable that behavior and make sure that a player selects a perk? :confused:

i remember playing rallfo's servers a long time , where u can say !perk and it would bring up the perk menu. You can change perks without having to kill yourself. I know he probably customized this mutator. I wonder if he'll share his mutator with the rest of us since, based on my experience, it's the ideal perk replacement mutator. *crosses fingers* :p
