I'm working on my map now and i just added few street lamps on the sidewalk. I don't know how to properly add light actors to make them shine well. When I'm trying to add light near lamps, the lighting looks very poor and casts unsuitable shadows. I noticed that on some maps lamps are shining very "realistic", but I have no idea how to make something similar. I've read the forum, but I didn't found anything helpful. I would be glad if somebody can help me with this problem.

For example, on Danzig, when you are in basement of command center and you take a look at one of the lamps on ceiling, you can see that the lightbulb is exactly the source of lighting. I don't know how to place light actor to get such effect.

Well, I'm not looking for any sophisticated effect, i just want to know how i should place light actors near street lamp to make it shine properly.

Depends on what you understand as realistic.
I'd place a light at every side (I guess it is a four sided lattern) from where the light should come, than got tu the propertys of the surfaces from where the light should come and unlit them. Last thing you should do is make is a corona for all the lights, go to the light properties, first open display and select a skin ( just search a texture you like, feg in the SpecialEffects.utx under coronas) and add it, than open lighting and set bcorona to true, you can also edit sice and other srtuff for that under lighting. It might be that you have to use a second lighting actor for the coronas, if so, set the lightingradius to 0.

Thats the best I can come up with, for details look at EZ Keels Page it helps pretty good!

Just check the lighting ;)
It is for the old unreal editor, but the didn't cange the lighting ( unless you want projektors...)

Hope I could help a little:cool:
