Change level 5 perk 'discount' bonusses

Does anyone else think it's a bit silly that with a level 5 perk you will spawn with a weapon AND get a huge discount for that same weapon?
It doesn't happen often that you give weapons to other people. Usually you just give them money.
So the discount is mostly wasted.

I came up with the following idea.

Remove all the current discount bonusses on level 5 perks except medic because that is the only useful one.
Replace them with the following

Medic: keep it as it is

Support: 25% more damage with the LAW and 25-50% more explosion radius with the LAW. It doesnt have to be this much but give us something to make the LAW a better weapon for the support perk which is the main class that should use the LAW in the first place due to the increase in carry weight.
or 25-50% discount on grenades.

Commando: This is a hard one. Maybe 10% more damage with all weapons or 25-50% more ammo for the bullpup or 20-25% more damage with 9mm or 25% discount on all ammo.

Sharpshooter: 25% discount on the rifle and xbow

Firebug: 50% more ammo for the flamethrower. (am I the only one who thinks this thing runs out of ammo way too fast if you spray a couple large specimen groups?)
or 25-50% discount on grenades

Berserker: Whenever you pull out your machete your character says "They call him Machete" (reference to the planet terror movie)
(ok i admit it, i cant think of anything else useful for the berserker and this was even an idea from a friend :p)

what you suggest changing the perks to is horrible!
I don't mean to flame or anything, but really.. how many people ACTUALLY use a L.A.W?
it's 14 weight, and max power, very slow speed.. There is nothing.. good about it..
Once you get the achievement for killing the one dude.. It's useless..
Just keep them the way it is..
If level 5 perks have a high discount rate and get a free weapon at the start of a game (i presume that's what you're saying), they could give their team mates a weapon when they don't have enough cash.
If a team mate dies, why do you want to give them 1000$ to buy a chainsaw, when they could give them their shotgun and buy another for ###$
That's why they probably did this.

so the LAW sux yet you completely oppose my suggestions to make it better ? thats smart flaming ...

and yes its heavy, thats why the support specialist gets bonus carry weight. by the time you get lvl 3 you can use a law and double pistols / handcannons. by lvl 5 you can use a LAW and any other main weapon you want (and you ll spawn with a shotgun)

its not a bad weapon but could use a little boost.
and tbh ... learn to use it instead of complaining that its useless

Or could just make a "rocketeer" perk for the LAW stuff. (explosion radius/more ammo/more damage/faster reload/less recoil/etc.)

Either that or just make it a larger radius on its own, it really doesn't have any radius at all at the moment.

Also about the discount I think you only start with that weapon the first time you spawn and you have to buy it back if you die.

I did some more testing with the LAW and the explosion radius is next to nothing indeed.
I shot a rocket on the ground in between 2 sirens who were both max 3m away from the impact and they both lived.

Even direct hit damage seems subpar. 2 hits to kill a bloat and sometimes an extra pistol shot is needed to finish it.

I don't care too much about the explosion radius but the dmg could use a boost trough one of the perks imho.

I also have to correct one of my earlier posts.
A lvl 5 support cannot carry a LAW + shotgun (14+8 weight) but he can carry a LAW + bullpup or rifle (14+6 weight)

I agree with you in getting rid of the cost of the guns.

I would make the bonus instead for Lvl 5 Support for the LAW to weigh 2 Weight less, allowing shotgun + LAW to be carried. Honestly, the LAW is the de facto choice for Supports since KF 2.5 and its frustrating these new players refuse to buy them except on the Patriarch. Sometimes I wish the 200% damage FP bug was back so these people would get the Fear of God back into them about Fleshpound map control.

A 5-8% Run speed would be appreciated instead of the Bullpup cost. Us Commando's are usually buried in the fields somewhere providing autofire or semi-auto headshots and it would be nice to kite FP's around seeing how our weapons are almost useless against them.

Perhaps adding in a higher chance to gather fired xbow bolts out of zombies like in 2.5 would be appreciated.
Alternatively, having only 1 Handcannon starting and max clips would be nice. The cheap price can go towards buying the second Handcannon provided you survive the round.

I haven't played with the Firebug, so I cant suggest anything. The flamethrower was never my style.

Zerker
Get rid of the Chainsaw spawn and instead add in Body Armor and the Fire Axe as an autospawn. Not only is it more hilarious, but alot more balanced weapon-costwise. The Axe can kill anything except Pat properly micro'd.

also getting rid of the discount on level 5 perks would mean that people can no longer exploit the 'drop your chainsaw to a teammate, then blow yourself up and spawn with a new chainsaw'
or when they just buy a chainsaw for 400, give it to a teammate or switch perk themselves and sell it for 750. over and over until the minute shopping break is over. or with whatever weapon they get a discount for but the chainsaw is the most profitable. Not that I use this trick because it's lame and unbalanced. I usually sit on 4-5k cash at the end of a long normal game anyway with everyone being fully equipped

I like your ideas, especially for the support with the LAW. I would love that so much.
@Luckace. I use it. Or would if the only thing I get is comic relief from killing a clot and seeing it fly. Or actually finding a group of 10+ specimens in REALLY close quarters.
@Mobius. I would love to believe you, but taking 5+ rockets to kill a scrape is a waste. And two to kill bloat is ridiculous imo.
