MyBrute infects with viruses?

Hey, just a heads-up.

Today morning I logged on to MyBrute and Norton Internet Security kept informing me of a blocked threat: Downloader.Swif.C

Since it was the only webpage I had opened and since there was no other net traffic and the block report came up whenever I loaded a new page on MyBrute, I guess that the evidence points quite clearly at the relevant culprit.

I knew it was too good to be true. Stay clear of that site, I guess. Did anyone else experience anything similar?

I dont know, Avast comes up clean, a quick check of the code doesn't look very suspicious either.

Prolly just Norton IS being its usual paranoid self

I woulden't be too sure, lately i've seen a ton of Spambots on various forums advertising for MyBrute, and usually, when a site is willing to use such methods to get publicity, there is good reason to distrust them..

Supposedly, this was a case of false-positive, see here. That the problem persisted for some people may be attributed to their not cleaning up their temporary internet files, I guess. Still, I find the whole thing dodgy and the incident's been a good reason to knock off the habit.
