Don't screw with Valve (or TWI for that matter)

And he is probably at home now, waiting for when the trial starts, they held him in for interigation for a couple of days and will let him go after that, since he is no danger to others.
They won't keep him in prison before the trial on a case like this.

I guess he will get a sentence for some comunity work for 150 hours and a financial fine probably.

I am sorry to tell "I told you so"
this is what I just read in the news here:

the public attorny asked for a centence of 240 hours comunity work and 1 year probational.

So he will probably be sentenced with the 150 hours I predicted

If he stole money from peoples bank accounts etc, what is the difference from robbing (in person) a bank. Its the same thing, just 2 different methods. Sometime the punishment from internet crimes will have to catch up, otherwise it will become rife.

While I agree the guy's scum, and a real jerk to the RO community, there's a big difference between stealing money by electronic fraud and robbing a bank.

Robbing a bank or mugging somebody in person involves a threat to human life and/or health. That's quite a difference in my mind.

Years ago, somebody stole a credit card check out of my mail and cashed it in for $1300. That sucked, but after the bank refunded the money, it's not a big deal. If he put a gun to my head and made me give him the $40 on me, I'm sure I'd be a bit more concerned.

The hacker managed to burn 13 million Euros playing poker online and shopping for notebooks, flat screens and MP3 players.

^ Why would you waste your herd hacked moneys on internet poker. He shoulda just spent it on drugs and whores.

edit: oh' and he only gets community service hours lol. Stop robbing 7-11s at gunpoint for $30. Those guys get years of hard time. Steal credit card #s on the internet. This is not a "hoodlum/gangster/thug" crime according to the criminal justice system so they let ppl off easy. **** only a couple hundred hours of community service for stealing millions on credit cards??? I need to start doing this ****.
