The Men of War demo features the entire opening stage of the Russian campaign, which sees a small unit from the Red Army taking on the might of the Germans. This initial mission helps players to get to grips with the controls before culminating in a tightly fought battle between a Russian tank and a convoy of German vehicles.

There's also an opportunity to try out Men of War's "direct control" feature during the demo. This enables you to manoeuvre units using the directional keys, rather than pointing and clicking. You can get behind the controls of a tank to smash through obstacles, crush soldiers under your tracks and fire armour-piercing shells at enemy placements.

Men of War takes place across the globe during the height of World War II and features four different armies - Russia, America, Germany and the other Allies - each with their own unique units, vehicles and missions. From the Russian missions starring two student comrades innocent to the horrors of war, players are soon catapulted into massive battles with dozens of units under their command.
Downloading now, will discuss later.

For those of you who may not know, this is a sequel to Soldiers: Heroes of WWII, and Faces of War.

For some reason it won't work for me I keep getting this error:

Awesome! Much more like SHoWW2 than FoW! Love it, clearing the whole **** with the KV-1, oldschool. Runs perfect on my PC as well. In fact the only negative things I noticed is the lack of real gore like in previous games if I remember correctly, the inventory not changed back to showw2 style and the voice actors sounding as motivated and professional like b-porn actors.

Definitely thinking about buying this now after this demo :D

Has anyone been able to beat the demo on hard difficulty? I keep trying but I can barely clear out the village, let alone stop the 10,000 tanks that come at you from the convoy. I really wish they gave you more men to fight with, you can keep them alive to a point but then that one HE shell will come out of nowhere and instagib them.
Yeah it's easy, capture the PzIII in the village (don't totally destroy it just damage it enough to stop it from hurting you and then repair it).

Then it's just a matter of making sure enemy infantry doesn't get close enough to toss AT nades and keeping your tanks from getting flanked on the road.

DON'T rush into the village (or the convoy) head-on with your tanks, you'll get swamped with infantry and one AT nade will end you. Go slow and easy and pick off all your targets at range. For the convoy, just make sure you're at one end of the road.

I did it first time through :D. Lost my captured PzIII eventually but my KV-1 made it through till the end.

Don't bother trying to use infantry ;)

It's too bad the interface is so clunky and the voice acting SUCKS. I will say this though, the AI is pretty ****ing good.

Had a lot of fun in the MP beta
infantry only battles = sweetness!!!

victory style games, need a bigger radius IMO.

They also a need an attack/defend style game

need more dense urban maps, so infantry is better

attack / defend mode is named Frontlines but the problem is that defended is seriously under pointed and you can't change start points at all ...
