not unlike a realtime version of Terragen

Hasn't this been in work for a few years? The dev said in Youtube that ETA is around 2009, would be great if it actually gets released this year.

Looks like a very impressive engine anyways, but the lack of 1st person cockpit view is very disappointing. I'll try that Combat Prototype.

apparently it will be free to play and not subscription based. Not sure on the full details. But you just pay for extra content and stuff

Those dev journals on the site are a really good read! I don't have much coding experience but the math is easy to follow.

Will the game be free ? Or if not, how much will it cost ? Will it have a monthly fee ?

This is currently unknown at that time. Running an MMO is expensive. It might be possible to play for free for a while or without some advanced features, reserved to paying customers ( premium memberships ), or to support the game through sponsors/advertisement, but nothing is set in stone.
