Well most of you should know this combat story if not read Gamburd's Intro below.

Intro by Gamburd:

STALINGRAD, EARLY NOVEMBER, 1942

The German 6th Army continues its drive in Stalingrad’s city centre to the western bank of the Volga river, in an attempt to cut off supplies and reinforcements of the Soviet forces defending Stalingrad and destroy the remaining pockets of resistance.
During the final week of September, 1942, Major General Aleksandr Rodimtsev of the 13th Guards Division ordered his men to seize buildings in the Stalingrad’s city centre and create strong points; Rodimtsev had learned street fighting tactics while a soldier in the Spanish Civil War.
On the early morning of September 27, a small platoon of the 13th Siberian Guards’ 42nd Guards Rifle Regiment, led by Sergeant Afanasev, seized an apartment complex on Solnechnaya street. Afanasev was blinded during the attack, and Sergeant Yakov Pavlov became the platoon’s new commander.
Pavlov’s House, only 300 yards from the western Volga bank, had an important strategic location, overlooking German positions in the city centre and the open space of the 9th January Square. This allowed the Soviets to radio in German troop movements for planned counter-attacks and rake the Germans with machine-guns and rifle fire.
The small garrison of a few dozen men inside the House was able to defend it for 58 days until the siege of Stalingrad was lifted during the final week of November; the Germans would attack the House several times a day, and every attack on the House was defeated. Men and supplies were funneled into the House by means of a series of connecting trenches located in back.
This was the Soviet Union’s Thermopylae . . . its Alamo . . . its Rorke’s Drift.
Recent historians like Michael Jones may argue that there may have been up to 100 defenders inside Pavlov’s House at certain times, but the fact is
indisputable: the German 6th Army, a conqueror of European cities and nations, was unable to seize a half-damaged apartment building defended by a small force of determined soldiers and civilians.
Of the 10,000 men of the 13th Guards Division who crossed the Volga on the evening of September 14, 1942, it is said that only between 280-320 survived the Battle of Stalingrad.
Pavlov was at the Battle of Berlin in the spring of 1945. For the courageous defense of “his” House near the banks of the Volga, Pavlov, now a Senior Lieutenant in the Red Army, was awarded the honor of Hero of the Soviet Union in 1945.
Unit Descriptions:
42nd Guards Rifle Regiment of 13th Guards Rifle Division of 62nd Army
"The Red Army and Navy and the whole Soviet people must fight for every inch of Soviet soil, fight to the last drop of blood for our towns and villages...onward, to victory!"
Josef Stalin - July 1941
The 13th Guards Rifles Division, formerly known as the 87th Rifles, has fought in major combat operations predating Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union, including the Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939 and the Winter War in Finland.
When Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa on June 22, 1941, the 87th Rifles were immediately sent to the front on the same day and counter-attacked; the 87th Rifles then helped defend Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, in late August.
The men of the 42nd Guards Rifle Regiment are evenly split between highly experienced elite soldiers and conscripts who have only recently joined the regiment to make up for 50% casualties sustained during the recent Soviet offensive at Kharkov in May, 1942.
Many men of the 13th Guards Division are either Siberians or “Siberianized”
Russians; one Soviet war correspondent described the Siberians as “a sturdy folk, dour, inured to cold and hardship . . . men who can be depended on.”
Their beloved young commander, Major-General Aleksandr Rodimtsev (age 36), a veteran of the Spanish Civil War and Hero of the Soviet Union, has taught them the tactics of urban military warfare he learned while fighting in Spain.
All the men are extremely enthusiastic, ready to fight, and willing to sacrifice themselves for the freedom of this city.

The siege of Pavlov’s House has lasted for weeks; the small garrison of a few dozen men has beaten back every German attack. Men and supplies are funneled into the House by means of a series of communications trenches located behind the apartment building.
The House provides a commanding view of the Stalingrad city centre and over the large open space of 9th January Square; German troop movements can be reported and attacked with machine-guns and rifle fire from this vantage point.

Sergeant Yakov Pavlov, your platoon’s Squad Leader, has joked that the situation reminds him of the Alamo from history class.
The Germans have now captured just over 90% of Stalingrad and are just 300 yards from the western river bank of the Volga. If you lose the House, the Germans will most likely break through the remaining defensive line in central Stalingrad, seize the ferryboat landing-points, and cut off the reinforcements and supplies of the remaining Soviet forces defending the city.
If that happens, the city will fall and the people will lose their freedom.

“Each single one of us must apply himself to the task of defending our beloved town, our homes and our families. Let us barricade every street; transform every district, every house into an impregnable fortress.” Defend the House!! (Stalingrad Regional Committee Proclamation)

518th Infantry Regiment of 295th Division (“Lower-Saxon-Division”) of LI Army Corps of 6th Army Group B of Army Group South
Their sword will become our plow, and from the tears of war the daily bread of future generations will grow.
-Adolf Hitler

The 295th Infantry Division was formed February 10, 1940. The majority of the men in the division are from Lower Saxony. The division has fought in combat operations in France and Ukraine, helping to capture Paris, Kiev, and Dnepropetrovsk.
The German troops in this regiment are thus experienced and battle-hardened men; but in order to continue the campaign to take Stalingrad, separate reinforcement companies of Hilfswilligens (Hiwis), i.e., disaffected non-Russian ethnic minorities such as Don Cossacks and Ukrainians, as well as Russian deserters, POWs, even criminals and adventurers, led by German NCOs, have been signed into service as conscripts to make up the heavy casualties sustained during the struggle for the strategic hill Mamayev Kurgan and defending against several massive Soviet counter-attacks at that position.
Your Objective is to take a four-storied apartment complex on Solnechnaya street in central Stalingrad.
This apartment complex has been a thorn in the side of the 6th Army for weeks. It is a strategically important building, however, because it has a commanding view over central Stalingrad and the large open space of 9th January Square, which allows the Soviets to see our troop movements, and it serves as a fortified base in the Red Army’s defense of the western Volga bank landing-points.
The river bank of the Volga is only 300 yards east of the apartment complex; eliminate the defenders of the apartment, and the 6th Army will have achieved an important strategic objective in its drive to take the ferryboat landing-points and cut off the Soviet Army’s reinforcements and supplies from the eastern bank.
If this is done, the remaining pockets of Soviet resistance inside the city will be isolated and destroyed. Stalingrad will be at last ours!! The apartment complex must be taken, no matter the cost!!

Occupied Servers...

Occupied Servers...

Come over to 2Manny's we have Beta 2 up and running and on some nights we have an occupied server.

Problem is it's hard to even find a server that is occupied period. A couple 50 players are usually full then the rest of the community is split between the few others.

Our server manages to get by and we have well over 100 maps on our server in rotation. Every well known custom and beta occupy our server so come one come all and try some of them out. I know it sounds like a shameless plug but what little community we have over there keeps the server going strong on most nights. Just wish it was the way it used to be continuously full every night and weekends...

Did a validation ( Witch i shuld have done in the first place ) and it runn:rolleyes:

Now a question-is the ATcannon removed?? Culdent find it! (practismod)
And is the Zombi bugg removed?- havent added and tested it on our server yeth..... http://www.blackwatchclan.com

The AT gun should still be in there. It has random spawning locations.

The uniform coding has been fixed and was tested on a closed clan server a few days ago. Of course, if you run into any problems with it on your server please report all issues here on this thread.

Also, I've uploaded the Beta 2 zip file to my FileFront page, but I don't know if it's any faster than the Media Fire link provided above:

For the curious, here are EvilHobo's excellent, new telogreika padded uniforms in action.

You need a better upload site or at least a quicker one. I've never seen 20mb take so long.

Did you not include any U2Z files in this release either?

Thanks for the update, still need to add more capture zones especially in the other houses...

Sorry I was leaving for vacation so just wanted to get it out there I think Bartbear has done us a nice service here check the new link.
Historically speaking Pavlovs was the objective so that is what your supposed to hold 9th square is kind of out of place it is just needed for the map flow and changing up some of the spawn. Making the attack across the open ground exactly like it really went down. Zobs is just a strategic hold for the russian hold it , or collapse on the house, not sure what the strategy should be or what works best.

Would of liked to have seen an extra AT soldier. I am not at all bothered about the AT guns as the tankers need only play 1-2 rounds and know were they spawn...and take them out easily. A good AT solder vs a good tanker and the AT soldier is worse off. You find the stug sits back and just fires into the building, meaning as an AT soldier I have to flank out wide and get in a good position, unseen, then fire 2 rounds at the most before being killed (FYI has a large sound and large muzzle flash). But this is vs a decent tanker....just giving Allies an option of a second AT rifle would be welcomed with warm open hands :).

Keep up the good work

I am very glad to remove a zombie bug.:)

This MAP was again added to the RealWar Server [JPN] +Carpathian Crosses.:D

ServerIP: 118.20.207.217:7757

Thanks for the add Hans!:)

This release was primarily an effort to get a version out there without the zombie bug and it appears that aspect of the plan was successful.

More to come folks, believe me.
