Ok so i'm currently in the process of setting up a redirect for my server. I'm using this site to do ithttp://ut2004.gameservers.net/contentpage.php?id=505
Everything was going pretty good but then I hit a wall and now I'm confused.
Inside the redirect FTP there are about 6 different folders and none of them seem to have anything to do with RO.

One says 'CallofDuty' another 'CallofDuty2',Enemy Territory, Unreal Tournament 2004, UT03,and UT2004. I'm not sure whether i need to manually create a Red Orchestra directory or not. Please Help

My redirect does not have an RO folder either. I do not think you need one. On my redirect server everything goes in this folder XXXX/public_html/redirect. But check the unreal tournament folders.

Nope I don't see any folder named that. Should I just go ahead and create it myself? Also whats the exact name of the folder(s) in which I should upload my custom maps to?

Sorry for the late reply.

Fire up your ftp and connect to the redirect server. Look for a folder called public_html and open it, look for a folder called redirect. If you do not have one then make a new folder and name it redirect. Put all your compressed files in the redirect folder no matter if it is a map or static mesh or something else. Everything goes to the redirect folder.

If you use the redirect at www.gameservers.net the free one instead of creating your own redirect (where of course the folder name won't matter :p).

follow this guide:http://ut2004.gameservers.net/contentpage.php?id=505

aka use the ut2k4 redirect and upload files into the ut2004 folder, i got them to add *.rom to the filter so you can upload compressed RO files to it. Everything is explained in there.

so upload the files here

ftp://upload:[email protected]/ut2004

Zetsumei, I use the redirect from gameservers (not the free one) and I do it the way I explained it to him. It seems to work.

gameservers.net is different from gameservers.com he might not even have a server at gameservers.com ;). gameservers.net just got a free redirect.

If you got webspace you can simply dump all files in a folder and then in your server point to that location.

Is this redirect for everyone to use? I have a redirect that only belongs to me. This seems like all you have to do is change your .ini to this redirect and your ready to go. Am I right? No sign up or anything? I tried to connect to it with my ftp but cant do it. What is the address? The format I have for my redirect is like this 11.22.333.44

Read this page it explains everything the ftp is empty because basically files that you add to it later get moved over to the real location (after being unaltered for 5 minutes) there they get checked for their extension and stuff and later placed in the correct place.

Its free for everybody to use how to set it up is explained in this post http://ut2004.gameservers.net/contentpage.php?id=505

Their server is located in the netherlands and is not really the best in quality but its free. And you can add files yourself.
