The combobox offers me the options "no blood" and "less blood". Where's the "normal"-setting? How can I get it there?

There surely is a possibility... I'd just have to get English RO files somewhere. This way, I removed censorship from my Half-Life.

The English RO files won't help you, because its steam that controls the gore setting. So if you are in Germany and your account is German (language setting doesn't count, like it did with HL2) your RO will be cencored. It doesn't matter if you installed it from a cut or an uncut version as far as I know.

Ok then. Leave out the part in the brackets then. We had games censored for less than what can be seen in HL2 (even "Far Cry", which was 18+ anyway!) and I only played HL2 in English because the German voices are so horrible so I didn't know it was uncut.

i installed ro with the english cds, the gore worked offline, but after going online it was setted to "reduced gore".
its sad. i mean, this game is free at age 16. why the censorship? they could have putted it into an free-for-18 game. (ugly sentence, i know)

Nah, there are no nazi insignia in the German version as far as I know.
They could have passed it as 18+ and it probably wouldn't have been censored (we have a law that sais, that titles that are 18+ aren't censored. If they are too much they are indexed altogether, but they are not censored unless they contain stuff that is against the consitution, like nazi insignia), but they wanted to pass it as 16+ so more people could buy it and for that they had to censor it themselves.
Maybe they chould activate the rest of the gore as soon as the player reaches the age of eighteen. The age is set in steam somewhere I think and the steam autoupdate could have been used for that.
But they didn't do it, so Germans are stuck with the 16+ version. There is a blood puff whenever you hit someone so you know you hit them and the awesome superrealistic ragdoll physics are intact too, so its ok for me because nothing gameplay critical has been cut. Still, the rest of the gore would be a nice thing to have.
