Lol, you really don't need a quad core for Vista. My roomate's 64-bit single core Athlon runs games under Vista very smooth.

Weird. Ran alright for me with default settings that they gave me but with my upping the resolution to 1280x1024.
2500+ XP (That's 1.83GHz of pure processing power right there)
1.5 GB of a mix of PC2700 and PC3200 RAM (Don't ask)
6800GT (AGP)
And I'm running on Vista

Man you're lucky, when I had my 6800GT it ran like arse, when I had an x1950 before it died it ran pretty weel.
The new system I am building should play it damn well.

I've just got an 8600GTS, AMD Athlon64 4800+ and 2GB of DDR2 6400 RAM so I can make my ArmA look purdy....

I personally dont like modern shooters. And I dont have time for any other game other then RO. So until RO2 comes out I shant be upgrading.

Deterio, just get armed assault and wait for all the WW2 mods, or if thats too modern wait for the napoleonic mods, and if thats too modern still, wait for the Jurasic Park mod.

Personally I am not into modern shooters either.
I prefer RO and its WWII scenario. All this combat sim talking of the ArmA community is getting on my nerves. Its a dam game and I want to have fun with it. I don't want to train with it for the "real thing".
ArmA needs the Mods to make fun for me. The US Army is boring.

I havnt played much ArmA yet, but I found OFP to be the intense holy **** fun as opposed to the lawl I pwnt joo fun. I guess if you like intense realistic war movies ArmA would be for you, but if you woul rather sit down and watch a comedy then probably not.

Does anyone else have problems with their environmental sounds in Triggers not working...the only one that works for me is "rain"....

Nice one, Ralfst3r. I started playing ArmA about a week ago. I tried multiplayer for the first time yesterday (also an Evolution server), and it was very confusing for me. Could you answer some questions for me?
1. What time (CET) do the ShackTac sessions start? If I'm not mistaken the time difference is like 7 hours.
2. Does multiplay have any nametags that appear above people's heads? The server I was playing on yesterday didn't have it, and it was terrible.

1. ShackTac sessions start I believe 1 AM CET on Saturdays.
2. Servers can put their server on Veteran, which means no 3rd person view and no names above heads. (Which is the mode ShackTac will be playing, and always have been playing)

I'm fine with the no 3rd person, that's great. But the nametags should be on, for realism. In real life you can recognize someone by looking at their face, but in game you can't do that so you have to compensate that by adding nametags. Without them, it just adds more confusion. Why some people think nametags are unrealistic, I don't know.

To be honest, you don't know the people in game, so how you would know them by their face is beyond me. And if you played with the same bunch you COULD tell by their face, especially if they have a custom face.
