Only cause most Americans are part Irish, it seems like (I know I'm part Irish).

Other than that... great excuse to drink.

I celebrated by shooting. We had Tannerite (google it), so it was a real blast.

St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of how easy it is to get one over on drunk people.

Irish people: "WTF have you done that's so good?"

St. Pat: "Uhhh... I... uhhh.. chased the snakes out of Ireland!"

Irish: "Dude, there aren't any snakes in Ireland, WTF!?"

St. Pat: "Cha. Cause I chased them out!"

Irish: "Woot! Time for drinks!"

St. Patrick is a huge figure in Catholic/Christian history. Huge. the day gets the attention it deserves IMO.
