Mic doesnt work ingame

I can hear people but they cant hear me. I have a Sound blaster X-Fi Music sound card and when i go to install it with the cd it says it wont install because this is not compatible with vista. I installed the drivers for vista and my card but i would like to have my mic working ingame. Does it mean ill have to buy another sound card?

The mic does work with the BETA vista drivers, just make sure you select it in the driver panel. There are a couple of ways you can do this but I can't remember how btw the apps on the X-FI cd will not work on vista.

I had vista Ultimate installed for about 5 days then removed it as game play in RO was poor(Stopping and starting every 30 secs etc)and went back to XPpro, its better supported and I am staying away from Vista until atleast 6 months time.

Vista (as with XP when it released) is going to have a issues with drivers and other stuff for that matter. As a general rule I'd wait a while for driver updates/fixes to come out before buying any new hardware to fix driver issues. That's fixes from MS and/or the company making the hardware.

My rule is never by an OS before the first service pack is released, I hate paying money to be a beta tester. That goes for buying games too
