Buy something cool, like a rubber band powered balsa-wood model airplane instead. They are wai kewler than Lego's.

Man I loved Lego when I was a kid (and I have a friend that still buys Technics Lego).

I loved Legos 30 years ago and love sharing them with my child now. I have no problem with the current line or quality.
As far as the price, if you want cheap go buy MegaBlocks. If you want to buy something where at least you are not funding Chinese Communist slave Labor then buy Legos.

Aah bugger. I still have my cousin's old lego (1980s-1990s stuff) and I need one hell of an upgrade (but I really don't know what to get on Bricklink 
)

When I was a kid, I had a MASSIVE box FULL of random Lego's
With those, I would make lego cars... they were about 15 to 30cm long
Perfect lego cars... people were asking me what instructions I used.... Freaking idiots... you dont need instructions, you need a head.
It had everything, from see thru windsheild, full cabin with seats and stearing weel, hood that can open, lego fake engin under the hood. trunk, lights, tail lights... everything...
Me and my brother would build cars like that... them make them slam into each other to see witch car was built stronger.... smash smash... parts fly off... still looks like its running condition smash smash smash...

I think the sameIt's always amazed me how ridiculously expensive legos are. To be honest, you should be able to buy a metric ton of the generic blocks for about 10 bucks.
If they were cheaper, I'd just use them for home rennovation...

Why do a Gucci or L&V bag cost $4000 when you could get one of the same quality and appearance (-the Gucci or L&V markings) for $40?

I love Legos. I woudl always buy the kit, assemble it, play with it for about a day, and then smash it and build my own thing out of it.
