I bought my first computer, a IBM 25 MHz, 2mo of ram, to play Xwing, I hope it got a mention !

Blah for consol games...
If this was a pc list... I would expect
Halflife and starcraft to be part of the top 10
I would have maxpayne in there because it is a VERY well made single player game with a very VERY addictive story and excellent gameplay. (not top10 material tho )
Also Tie Fighter (the sequal to X-Wing)
that was gold on the good old 486's

no it was not, but it is still probably the funnest RTS game out there. And it is definitly the most popular to ever exist.

Haha, man these people shoulden't be allowed to vote, SSX Snowboarding 20 places better than Half Life 1? Excuse me? Worthless list. Shadow of the Collosus 35? Hahaha. Oh man.

I say like a lot of people here have allready said this list seems to reflect younger people more then good games of all time.
And I'm not looking at my oldies trough rose coloured glasses. I still have my NES I still regularly play games on it.
Where are games like:
Original Metroid, one of the games I still play the most on my NES.
Megaman series games (mainly Megaman and Megaman 2)
Super Mario Brothers only got place 82!!!! (I play that too on my NES nowdays)
Kid Icarus
Gradius (I think it was called Nemesis in some countries)
Final Fantasy, ffs this is the game that created this type of games
Dragon Quest
The Legend Of Zelda only at place 56
Simons Quest (the music alone should have given this game a spot in the list)
And the list of NES games can go on and on.
More over for other systems then NES

Moonstone
SimCity
Doom and Doom 2
Civilisation series
Sonic
Adventures of Y's
Quake
Duke Nukem 3D
Morrowind (Oblivion made it but morrowind didn't which puzzles me)

No wonder games like the GTAs are so high up: Console gamers AND PC gamers know them. If I'd tell them "DUDE STARCRAFT NEEDS TO BE LIKE #10 AT LEAST!" they'd ask me if it was somehow related to Tekken or something.
