Switching places in tank

Yes, definately.
- Switching positions in a tank should not be instant. This discourages crewing up, as one person can man all 3 positions in a tank, sort of like BF2.
- Entering and exiting vehicles should not be instant as well, as it unrealistically increases ones chance of survival (a luxury most fighting men did not have in combat).

- Instead, all vehicles should have somekind of entry and exit animation, depending on how that tank/vehicle was accessed. For example the driver of a T-34-76 would have to access his position through his dedicated hatch in the front plat of the hull. Also, make this procedure automated and vulnerable to enemy fire, yet make it reasonably quick to give the player a chance under fire.

- Switching positions within a tank should be limited to the vehicles that allowed the driver to access the turret and vice versa. This should be done using a relatively quick animation. This would require a little research on how these vehicles were compartmentalized. If this would prove to be physically impossible, force the player to exit his station and enter his desired position through any standard external hatches.

Adding entry/exit times would be good as it is. Animations would be a god send IMHO. And animations for moving from position to position would rule.

i think doing animations is somewhere on the to-do list of the devs not? i hope so : )

i heard that german tankers were trained to evacuate their panzer in 4 seconds! thats about the time it took for the interior to caught fire after a hit.

wouldnt it be cool if the interior could catch fire and you would see flames lol, jump out or burn alive!!
