10 facts about yourself!!

  1. My name is Mark. My tag comes from my real-life company, Wicked Penguin Corporation, whose name in turn came from my dark sense of humor and my love for those amazing flightless birds.
  2. I worked in the infomercial business for a while. If you've seen commercials for Tae Bo, iCare, Magnetique, Natural Bionics, or Specially for Kids, you've seen my stuff.
  3. I am currently in training to be an air traffic controller. (Hopefully I'll be in a good mood if I have you and your family on my scope someday. :) )
  4. I got my pilot's license about a month and a half ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly.
  5. My music tastes are as ecelectic as it gets, with equal parts metal, dancehall, reggae, rock, latin jazz, indie rock, spoken word, industrial, and orchestral soundtracks on my MP3 player. About the only genres I openly despise are country and opera.
  6. I play bass fairly well, guitar fairly horribly, and program keyboards/drums well enough to cover up my deficiencies in the latter two. I love writing songs, but my own lack of ability keeps me from realizing the music in my head.
  7. I have been very happily married for going on seven years.
  8. I've never done drugs nor do I drink heavily - mostly because I've been around people all my life who do too much of either and make asses of themselves.
  9. I am bothered by organized religion and any other belief structure which denies you the right to ask 'why?' and treats you like a pariah if you do so. I feel the same way about any goverment that denies you that same right in the name of liberty. /me looks towards the White House.
  10. My first language is Spanish and I am half-Cuban, but you'd never know it considering I'm blonde, blue-eyed, and pale.

1. I come from a long line of geeks; mom worked for IBM a long, long, long time ago; dad worked for IBM on an anti-ballistic missile project.
2. I was among the first 200 people in the world to work with production VGA cards. How's that for pathetic? And I was only 13 or so at the time ...
3. First wife was crazy, and I have the psychiatrist and medication bills to prove it.
4. Second wife is Brazilian
5. and absolutely wonderful in every way.
6. Just finished a master's in journalism.
7. Have seven years' experience.

  1. My name is Marc, I am 24 and live in a share house with my best friend (also a student), another student and two blokes who can only be described as dole bludgers.
  2. I am currently mid-way through a Computer Engineering diploma, but have in the past studied Sociology and Politics.
  3. I am a pretty active guy who enjoys all kinds of sport, I have in my lifetime so far played cricket (4 years), Aussie rules football (2 years), and boxed (3 years).
  4. I grew up around firearms and have a healthy respect for the safety and responsibility which comes with ownership of such things.
  5. At the age of 14 my older brother accidentally shot me with a .222 which went straight through my left calf leaving a portion of the bullet behind. I needed an ultrasound to find the left over part and remove it, luckily there was no nerve damage or lasting disability once the muscle recovered. Interesting points; a) it didn't hurt at all until about half an hour later, b) I could still walk on the leg even immediatley after it happened, c) we dodged legal trouble by saying it was a ricochet.
  6. At the completion of my diploma I plan to either go for my CCNA/CCNP and seek employment working on servers/network infrastructure, or to join the Australian Defence Forces where I can get into a few specialisations with it.
  7. Single currently, last break-up was pretty messy and cost me a very good friend. Never ever hook up with the best friend of your mates woman, especially when she's the manipulative type.
  8. Technically I am agnostic, organised religion in my opinion is an archaic and outdated system of control, though I believe there is more to the world than we can see with our eyes.
  9. Gaming started for me growing up with a NES in the 80's, interest in computers started at 12 when the family got a 486 and I taught myself DOS.
  10. I am quite experimental in nature and have tried a few different things in my time, though I have grown out of it these days. Craziest thing I ever tried would have to be datura innoxia, I came out of it in a copse of trees in the middle of a paddock about 10 Km's from my folks house (I was still in high school at the time).
  11. I have an eclectic taste in most things, especially music and movies. I watch and listen to anything that speaks to me regardless of genre. Though musically there are one or two genres that flat out bore me, ie. pop, r&b, anything emo.

As they say on Fark.com: This thread is useless without pics.

Well this is the person involved:

9850679.jpg

As you can see, she is now an actress. I met her about 10 years before the photo on the left was taken. There were certainly no cameras allowed into illegal raves run by the ICF so I'm afraid you'll just have to imagine the rest - basically a capsule burst down the front of a very low cut T-shirt.

As for the ICF - this is who they are and why you would not mess with them:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inter_City_Firm

As for evidence of any of the other stuff the only thing I have to offer is this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2003/03_march/25/university_2003_final.shtml

Wow, i'm pretty suprised by this. And i applaud you, since i think exactly the same about this subject

Not to turn this to a discussion, I am glad I live in a NON-religious country
Where religion isnt forced on anyone and everyone can practice what he believes in.
Unlike many European countries (including the UK) our flag isnt even religious but a nationalistic
