Did you already install Steam onto your C drive?

If you have enough room to install it to your C: drive do so. After it is installed and updated all you have to do is move your entire Steam Directory to the location of your choice > Delete the clientregistry.blob file > Then start up Steam.

That is said to work.

This is a known bug with the CD installation. If you want support on it you will have to go to the publisher (we can't help you with the install, that is their thing). If you however want to cheat, just drop your CD key into steam and you can download it.

This fills me with joy. As I am trying to install now... with no space on c: .. Workarounds..

Install steam on the harddisc where you want the game. Insert your serial and just download the game. Or if you internet is slow try the following install the game on some other computer. Then use the inbuilt steam backup function of the game. (or just go to steam\steamapps\ and copy and paste the *.gcf files on some disc and then move them to your harddisc in thesame folder of steam on the comp where you want the game to install.
