How about adding Russian Marines/Naval Infantry as a new force in the game. This would just be an aesthetic addition, as the Russian marines had a different uniform (not sure how it looked, but it had a cool beret-type hat and striped undershirt. It could also allow for the introduction of.. landing craft? Not battleships though, too big and complicated I suppose. Some possible maps could be the battle of Novorosissk (sp?).

Naval cap! That's it!
According to wikipedia, Russia had up to 500,000 sailors formed into naval infantry battalions and committed to actions on ground. In the battle of Novorossiysk, a small unit of Russian naval infantrymen held out against the occupying German forces until the city was recaptured 225 days later by more naval infantrymen. Would make a good map, no?
