Get a headset!

Just a thing that has been on my mind for a while.

If you're playing RO without the ability to talk to other players you're missing out on a great deal in teamplay. When you don't have a microphone you can't warn people quick enough, you can't effectively lead your team, you can't communicate efficiently with each other!

So to all you out there without a headset, go out and get one now. You're really missing out on something great without one.

Sennheisers are nice and not overly expensive ( I have a Senn. PC150 for about 2 years now and I love it)

People dont even need that great of a head set as long as it doesnt make alot of static, but people should definiatly have a mic when playing ROOST especialy if they plan on using tanks

Yeah, a headset is quite essential for good teamplay.

I also have a high quality Sennheiser.

I've got a logitech set that rocks, but right now I'm using my Altec Lansing Noise-Cancelling Headphones. No mic on them...

My Logitech was only $20 and works great.
YES everyone should get a headset/micro for playing and team coordination!

My logitech was I think $60 and I can hear enemy pioneers and sapers sneaking up on me to plant a charge on me in a tank.

this doesnt mention the possibility of a seperate mic (which i do have). so no i dont have a headset, but yes i can VOIP.

I have had my headset for ages now. I got it at bestbuy for like $40, it still works great so i am very happy.

I just use an el-cheapo mike and fairly decent headphones. I have pretty good speakers and a subwoofer, but you'd never know because I normally play with the headphones plugged in -- I can hear 100x better with them.

Does the job.

Except that no one can understand a word I'm saying.

Maybe if I stopped playing only on foreign language servers?

Yeah, been a while since they made those. Shame too, it works really well.

I use a Playstation 2 microphone, the one that came with SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs

I was pretty surprised to find that the ports in the PS2 were the same as computer USB ports.

Only problem with comminicating via headset is it assumes everyone can hear you. Often my volume is quite low, to not disturb anyone else in the house with the sound of explosions and then it makes it really hard to understand people, especially (no offense) Amermicans, whose accents I just can't grasp.

Most of the time I use my headset in RO it's to talk to my mate over skype whilst we team up in a tank.

I have a Logitech precisious gaming headset (Dunno if the name is right)

But because i just got a Logitech z530(5.1) speaker set i have used that instead of headset though it makes communicating via microphone much harder.

I've got a headset with a mic but I choose not to use it. I spend my entire working day talking to strangers and I'd rather not do it during my spare time.

Lo-tec and does the trick.
Using my 5.1 speakers scares the living **** out of my dog and tends to annoy the neighbours. Arty ftw !

I do have a headset with mic, but people can never understand me over VOIP, and its not because my english is bad, apparently the sound gets all warped for some reason..

A freind of mine has the exact same headset and it works fine in RO, and mine works fine when im using Team-Speak with him, so that shoulden't be it.

I hope the Dev's can improove a bit on VOIP, that'd be nice.
