Music is the first thing I turn off while gaming though, especially with MP games.

definetly more enjoyable that way for me ! Enemy at the Gates soundtrack (the movie wasnt good, but the music though is one of the best i heard) or Russian classics

I never play music while playing games. It distracts me.

Can't hear the footsteps and/or heavy breathing of the enemy when they are near me.

I love listening to some good reggae when playing CS (or anytime for that matter ), but I tried playing RO with music running, but that does not work for me at all. It distracts me way too much.

ive found that despite the lessoned hearing i usually play alot better with music... just give me a rythem to my in game movements... though the music i usually listen to is quite the opposite of the game (everything from matt pond PA to mogwai)

I've never really listened to music while playing games and can't really understand people who do. Especially in a game like RO. For me it would ruin the feeling of being there.

i usually do listen to music while playing eventhough it generally does make it a tad harder to play. i've had playing anything from heavy metal to classical or lol even some traditional japanese folk songs.

I only listen to music when I'm playing screw around games. I also listened to music while playing operation flashpoint as I flew around in my helicopter or jet exploring islands, or just while I driving my motorcycle around. It is amazing how fun it is just to explore the islands of OFP with a motorcycle some music, and a buddy to chat with.

As for RO, no thanks. It sort of ruins the atmosphere of me being sneaky sneaky to be playing some "Sinner Man" by Nina Simone. I prefer to be able to hear my prey breathing as I pull out my knife.

Dragonforce is more my flavor. Only before the game, though, not during it. I have horrible hearing so it's hard enough to hear footsteps and such. Don't need the extra background noise
