Alright, I am really curious to see who out of this community knows where Realism came from.

1. The Original Realism Unit?

2. The CO for that Unit and "fathers" of Realism?

3. How long ago and for what game?

NOTE: If you know Me, do not answer for I already know that you know.

Don't know about any other game but for COD it is the 3rd ID. Nearly every single unit that played the COD series has branched off or has some type of relations to the 3rd ID. The CO is Captain Higgins, and theyve been around for 5+ Years now.

I belive the 5th Rangers back in the days of Day Of Defeat. There were under the command of Captin Tucker. This was about 6-7 years ago.

No, the 5th rangers was branch off of the 28th ID (which broke off the 3rd);they formed on July 1st, 2004 under the command of Cpt Ried... AKA Cheyne.

Damn near perfect. It was the 3rd ID and Captain Higgins, however they originally played DoD. Then moved to CoD.

With regards to the 5th RB, it was a branch off of the 28th ID, which was off the 3rd ID. The 5th RB as founded by Cheyne and Mirman. Cheyne is currently in the RO Unit 3.SS Totenkopf as Kazamerek or something. Not quite sure with Mirman. After Mirman and Reid left, De Paul took over and has run it ever since.

Yeah, I miss the ol' days when it was mainly the 3rd ID and the 3rd Panzer Grenadiers that ruled the realism community... thats when no one had even heard about realism units.

Alot of good times on their server.

Someone really needs to make a website/forums. To explain to alot of these Clans, that there is no such thing as Realism Clans. That the title Unit, has to be EARNED. And most of all to give guidance to alot of these clans that try really hard to be a Realism Unit but lack experienced men to show them the way.

So if I got a job at McDonalds and some manager instructed me how to properly cook the food, would it be fair to call him an elitist? Because I take pride in something I do, its history and do it in the manner that it was founded, doesnt mean Im "elitist".

The 5thR was the origional groupe of guys, then the 5thRB was a branch off from the 5thR. The orional ones were under the leader ship of Captin Tucker then Captin Crispin

And ask them where the 5th RB came from and all the Commanding Officers that served for the 5th RB. Either way, Im not here to argue facts with you. I have made my point. Thank you for almost listening.

I know the commanding officer from the former 5thR, and i was in the 5thR when it was in the last 2 weeks of DOD, just befor DOD:S came out

I think the 3rd ID has started the TR thing off first. They are as of now a COD2 unit but they where around since Day of defeat first came out.

The 5thR isnt arround any more,but the 5th RB is. Some of the members from the 5thR moved to DOD:s then to COD2 with us and then to RO as different unit names.

Yeah I'de say it's more about reminiscing and putting value in doing things uniformly with insight on what has worked and what has failed in the past...there are groups who call themselves realism or take on the names of historical units but conduct themselves poorly with innacuracy and little authenticity as well as a general lack of historical knowledge, so they end up failing to live up to the standards of some who have been around longer...but this isn't about anyone specifically nor am I saying anyone has to do things a certain way, they don't...but everyone is entitled to their opinion about the way things are done.
