sorry if this is a second thread but i need a good suggestino.. i accodentaly deleted my redorchestra.ini file (dont ask how) and im wondering if i should reinstal the game to bring it back or what? thanks

just restart RO and it should generate a new one. the important files are in the gcf archives and only some of them are extracted like the ini's which can be changed. the files in the gcf files cant be changed since you can only unpack them but you cannot make a new gcf-file.

i restarted steam and it doesnt work. and sorry but i didnt understand one thing u just said lol

dont restart steam, restart RO. else you could try to "verify integrity of game cache". to do this you need to right click on RO in your games list in steam and click on the local files tab and there youll find the verify thing.
but usually it should replace the files itself with starting RO i think

The GCF files is like the actual date that would be on a CD, when you start Steam, and then Start RO, it unpacks the files for play.

INI files are generated over and over. Deleting a INI file will do nothing but set your config back to defaults. If you are having trouble startiung RO at all, verify your files by right clicking RO. If you deleted something else you shouldnt have, check your trash and replace files. You should not have to do a complete reinstall of any Steam game ever. <--- That is from my experience.

its like deleteing you config.cfg in a valve game. next time you start RO it should just make a new one for you.

maybe try to delete the whole Redorchestra directory. NOT the gcf files. it should generate the a new directory

edit : like every other game. quit to windows and then start RO again

man im to dam eliterate and scared to try this without screwing it up even more. and besides I cant even find anny of the gcf files

the gcf files are placed in the steam\steamapps directory where the Red Orchestra dir is.
