icons instead of text?

so the BETA is out,now we can talk more openly about RS2 Vietnam.

you improved the bleeding system a lot, i really like the slow fade into black when you bleed.
this way you know exactly how much time you have left,until you die. And that way you can choose: stay in the fight for a little bit longer or find a safe spot to bandage yourself.

but the thing i dont like is the big text in the middle of the screen going hey :"BLEEDING SLOWLY! PRESS [F] TO BANDAGE"... it works yeah ,but it looks kinda meh... :confused:and it blocks too much of my view.

so instead of text i would like to have an icon. (even it its just a optional choice like the ammo/mag. check icon) http://imgur.com/GMQZW9K

i have something like this in mind:

a small pulsating bandage+blood drop icon on screen,that will look/work similar to this

Yeah i like all these icons some good work, but for damage and blood loss i'd prefer a screen effect depending on the injury only, like blood running down the face for a smaller bleed and slowly blinking eyes with the blood running down the face with a longer bleed perhaps, as a second reminder to heal it's gonna be obvious. Icons and text take me out of the experience somewhat like some kind of nonexistent visor or helmet, or let this be a help menu option i can turn off 8).

if i had my way we'd all be playing hudless.

so the closed beta is in wave 4 and the bandaging/bleeding got updated:

for me,as a guy who likes his HUD nice and clean,minimalistic as possible,it is slowly driving me insane,because there is NO option to turn it off.

this is why i would like to have an optional choice: bleeding/bandage system: a.)text or b.)icon
(justlike we can do it with the ammo/mag. check system)http://imgur.com/GMQZW9K

i'm sure it's just a placeholder/work in progress,but anyway here is my feedback on the current bandage/bleeding(beta5):

the progress bar is a great idea, but i dont like the "rainbow color" , it is just too colorful for a hardcore War game in my opinion.
and yeah i still hate the BIG RED TEXT ;)

also,there are 4 stages of bleeding right now,shown in BIG RED TEXT,that i dont like:
-bleeding very fast!
-bleeding fast!
-bleeding slowly!
-bleeding stopped!

so here in my "stages of bleeding" idea,that is built into the icon:

-bleeding fast! = 2 blood drops
-bleeding slowly! = 1 blood drop

beta 6.1 (6.2) update: im kinda late,but anyway here's my feedback:

so the ugly rainbow progress bar is gone,nice! now have this instead > http://imgur.com/vEBBflg , and i like it,it's a good start.:)

but some things could use some work/changes:

a.) the design/artwork and color,of some the icons could be better. you can find some ideas in this thread;):p

b.) the big red "BLEEDING FAST" text pop up - an option to disable it(turn it off) would be nice.

c.) the progress bar for tunnel destroying( http://imgur.com/IDhDzKW ),should display this tools instead >> http://imgur.com/HiWPu1h, because this is what they used for "tunnel destroying".
