Server Cannot connect to RO server on first connect.

So, ever since I got my config file for RO working Ive been running a server and playing with my friends on it. But it seems alot of people are having a issue where they cannot connect on the first attempt at joining the server as it just hangs at Connecting index.rom. Yet if they close connection with F10 and rejoin it instantly connects and loads the map. It also instantly connects on map changes. Here is a log file showcasing the event... aswell as a unexpected crash that randomly occurred when I joined but never happens any other time so that isn't really a mandatory issue for me.

My sys setup is as follows,
Ubuntu Linux 64, 512mb of ram.

ps: it would be a good idea to remove your Steam id from the section of log you posted.
I'll try fixing that and report back, also whats wrong with letting people know my Steam ID. It can be found easily.

Still not fixed, oh well I guess my RO server was to good to be true :p

I am now having the exact same problem as yourself.
Last weekend i started hosting a server with a new GSP,and the same problem emerged ie: it takes two attempts to connect.
I've been working all week with my GSP to get to the bottom of this but i came up with no answers until tonight.
The problem seems to be a Steam validation problem,something with the server set up is stopping Steam from validating players when they first attempt join the server, here is a section of my log to the problem server:
