I would advise against using nicknames. It's not secure, and if a member temporarily changes his name for any reason it won't work. I would do it by password or Steam ID.

Yeah I too am a little confused as to which of the data types to use either. Can someone tell me the value for CD Key/Hash as that does seem more secure? Am I assuming correctly that is the Steam ID? Moreover, where exactly do I find that data? For myself and other clan members.

Yes it is the Steam ID and you can find them on the Player List page of WebAdmin for whoever is playing at the time.

The GLOBAL ID is the value I am seeing. The weird thing is that I am seeing the exact same global id for each player. I am thinking well that can't be right? But maybe it is? Doesn't seem unique enough almost.

a questions that i dont understand. Our server is 32 players:
1) if i have 5 reserved slots and our server is full with 32 players, can join the reserved slots or i need setup the server for 27 players?
2) in webadmin what's must be the valur for Absolute max players and absolute max spectators in the reserved slots sections for my 32 player server?

Depends on your option selected. I have ours set to kick the last player on the server. So, if there were 32 on and you joined, it would kick the last player to join your server and you would take his place.

Any idea why it seems to be kicking random player eventhough I'm trying to set it lowest score? Running a DH server, hosted by Gameservers... everything else works fine, kicks room for slot holders but the kick is totally random.
