Squad OstFront Campaign

Looks like a new update is needed, the 8th SS, I think the only german unit still in the campaign, managed to pull victory from the jaws of defeat against the 110th with some very fierce counter-attacks.

H!

Nope, 1SS and 3SS are the only ones to scurry off. 11SS, 8SS, 4SS and 20PzG are all still in the ruccus and playing matches.

gj on Bondarevo, heard that was a hard fought match.

Family, the bane of the gamers life.

Seriously though, that's a pity, Yoshi was a sound fella.

And yes Koba it was a hard fought match, in the end the russians were dirven off by our rapid assaults, only thing scarier than a tank is a firing tank, only thing scarier than that is a moving firing tank, and the only thing scarier than that is a moving, firing, ACCURATE tank.

...

...Ok, we only had one incident of a moving shot, but it was a kill nonetheless and earnt that vehicles crew an Iron Cross medal. The russians did really give us a hounding, it wasn't easy, but we did manage to break out and bring speed onto our side, as well as firepower. I still miss my Tiger, the IV F2 just isn't....Cozy.

After weeks of holding their ground, the Soviet military has reinforced their positions well enough to engage in counterattack operations. The attitude in the Soviet soldiers shifted from defensive to offensive and operations were carried out across the Ostfront.

Focusing on quick, mobilized attacks; armored and combined-arms military groups were formed and pushed on the offensive into Prussia, Poland and Romania. Hungry and the Slovak State were ignored for the time-being, possibly in favor of cutting off the Romanian oil supply to it's allies.

Having been building up supply lines and fortifying their positions even before the invasion of the Soviet Union, the Axis had well constructed and secured their defensive lines in case of such counterattacks by the enemy military. This fact was noticeable in the successful defense of Poland by Waffen-SS defenders.

Despite this, the Soviet armies could not be halted in Prussia and Romania, where the attackers were determined to overtake the Axis positions and secure the territories before the inevitable counterattacks to retake them.

The OstFront Realism Campaign

Following the Soviet counterattack, Axis forces have regrouped to push their lines forward in an attempt to halt Soviet advances and further regain their foothold in Eastern Europe.

Numerous Waffen-SS forces, spurred on by their determination, regained their organization and morale for attacks against Soviet forces across the Ostfront. They striked hard, but cautiously, looking for openings in which to advance.

Both the Soviet and Axis military command, wary of spreading their lines too thin or exhausting their troops in the front lines, left a fair number of reserves to reinforce their lines in case of the worst.

In the south, focusing on the need of supplies and oil, priority was placed on regaining the bulk of Romania to relieve the Axis war machine. In this objective, their forces were very successful, devestating Soviet troops, forcing them to retreat for rebuilding.

In the north, emphasis was on recovering Prussia and piercing through into White Russia. After long, arduous battles, German forces showed their persistance to recover Prussia, fighting as hard as they could against a determined foe, ultimately achieving their goal.

Their plans to overwhelm and push through Soviet forces in White Russia proved too much, however, and forced the Axis to halt and regroup their forces.
