Zoom-running

Don't know if anyone has encountered this but here goes.

After I spawn and immediately start sprinting (shift depressed before I start going forward I think), the game glitches and I end up sprinting with a zoomed perspective, and it also restricts my turning slightly. THis is on a classic (no zoom) server with classic loadouts. Half of the time this happens, my 1st person gun sounds also switch to the 3rd person sounds, but everyone else's sounds remain the same. As soon as I die it resets, but can happen at any stage in the map.

Anyone had this? Happens on any stock or custom map for me.

Are there bots present on the server?

What game-type was being played? (I've known this to occur in Countdown esspecially when bots are concerned)

Not sure on the exact cause of it but anyway, dropping your weapon and picking it up seems to fix it for me

Territory and no bots, and to update - it doesn't matter whether I'm holding shift as I spawn or now, happens anyway. Thanks Petercakes I will try that one

I sometimes have it, but don't have a perfect repro. I believe its related to using the hold ironsight button instead of toggle ironsight. And the state that you died in.

Just had it the first time I spawned on a map so it can't be because of how I died last, unless it was how I died last on the map before.

I got it too. I think it caused pressed shift buttton in time of respawn.

Well if you guys manage to find a perfect repro, I would love to see this fixed. I can get it quite often but haven't managed to put the pieces together in the correct way yet.

Hope you`ll get it to fix. It is extremely annoying. Sometimes if got it 20 times a round and the next day it`s gone. In the last days it seems that when i not have pressed ALT and TAB before (doing this to switch Guys in our TS and going to the WebAdmin) it does not happen. Throwing your weapon on the ground does not work at my end as TL or SL. Playing wars with this isn`t fun anymore when it happen.

Yeah it can be a real bugger when you're playing a role like SL where you have to be agile and it retards your movement quite significantly. Haven't had it lately though for whatever reason

Some of my Teammates had it sometimes, so they know what it is. There is one who had it never. The first time i had it sometimes was short after the Update. But then i had it never again for a long time and then it came back. We had a funwar against (U) and after every spawn i had this bug. In the last 10 minutes of the last round of this match the bug disappeared. Horrible! I would like to know if it is caused by hardware or by using a keyboard combination or something like that.

Do you guys use the same button for sprinting and zooming? I use different buttons and I never had it.

Hi, i use the left shift key for sprinting. Zoom on shift is disabled in the menu so i play without zoom.

FYI, You can bind a key to zoom - separate from the sprint key.

Good for you. I'm not a fan of zoom myself (at the very least, not a fan of the 2x zoom).

Yeah that may very well be the issue, but I like that key binding, I'm very used to it.

Just bind the dedicated zoom key specifically for fixing that bug - I bet pressing it will solve the issue (until it happens again; just press the button again).
Not the final solution, but it should hold you over until they fix it.

Changing zoom button and disabling shift-zoom do nothing to stop the bug last time i checked.
The bug only seems to affect one weapon tho, if you swap to pistol, grenades etc. you will go back to normal, until you swap back to your primary weapon. Picking up new weapons and dropping + picking up primary seems to fix it every time
