Why in the game flamethrower simply does not explode when hit by it? One day when I was playing with Ramm_Jaeger, one of the staff said it was not realistic, you're crazy? Even in Call of-Duty flamethrower explodes.
There are other threads that actually explain that it is very difficult for the flamethrower to explode if at all (details are in those threads). In other words, its NOT realistic and COD has it wrong.

Only if its also exposed to an open flame.
I agree that The flamethrower needs to cause a burning slow kill and not instant death. That would make the FT guy less out to rush forward like an assault trooper while torching everything in his path. The US already has way better weapons than the Japs even without the M2 guy effortlessly killing 15 people at a time in cap zones. Maybe they should just add the type 100 Japanese flamethrower so we can have one big cookout.
True but when I am shot there is the dying animation in which I am still able to shoot back and I think the same thing would be appropriate for the flamethrower, but only when it hits you on the edge of the range of course.
