Smaller HUD text and icons

Hi all, been playing your game for a few rounds and it really strikes me how big the HUD text and icons are. Take a look :

See how annoying it is to have icons the size of a head and text all over the place, blocking a good 20% of the screen ?

...

...

Also BTW if the icons were smaller it would be nice to have fireteam leaders orders even without pressing the tactical key to promote squadplay, don't you think ?

I don't think this is a wide screen issue. You can clearly see how they get over each other when they are packed, and even where there is only one, why so big ?

Imo for immersion's sake the names should be smaller (at maximum like "spawn queue", perhaps even smaller), and the icons should be a good half their size. Right now it's quite a mess...

I think a slider for HUD elements scale would be ok, but if you just made them all smaller across the board some people would have problems.

As for leader's commands on all the time, I think this is a bad idea because it violates the "HUD on demand" principle which I love and in a way also violates the spirit of your original complaint; that the screen is too cluttered. However I do think perhaps something must be done to make the squad and team leader orders more apparent, but the design conundrum is how to do so without it feeling too artificial, obtrusive, and arcade-like. And I mean no offense to TWI's hard work, I do appreciate UI design is not easy, but for me aesthetically, their HUD/UI elements art are not their strongest suit; just an opinion. But that's off topic. As the system is now, there is a lot going on at a generally fast pace to pay attention to and I tend to not easily notice when an order is given and I have to double check the overhead map to see if there are any orders icons in it. By then I have probably already pissed off the SL for going to the wrong place. In the end, a simpler solution to the orders system is I just wish more SLs would constructively use VOIP for making sure their orders are at least noticed.

Well, at least for the objectives icons, unless you play on a very tiny screen I don't see how you would have problem watching it. They are just HUGE right now. And for the names : yes it would be more difficult to see who's who but even in real life combat with uniforms and all you probably can't tell one guy from the next at a distance...

For the leader's icon I see what you mean. Perhaps another solution would be to make it appear for a few seconds and then disappear ? That way it wouldn't break the immersion too much ...
