Oh, I have some ideas floating around in my head, I will just have to wait and see how things will play out... For instance, I'd like to do the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella, otherwise known as El Camino de Santiago or 'The Way': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Way_of_St._James.
I also wouldn't mind hitchhiking through Europe, probably heading east towards Russia. I'd also like to see Mongolia, so I might drop down south from Russia. And if I reach Mongolia, hell, China isn't that far away anymore either
Anyway, that's all just wishfull thinking right now. I still haven't been able to find a job.
I went on a short hitchhiking trip with my friend to Norway, and I wrote down the first part of the journey in my blog for those interested! The rest will follow soon.
It took me waaaay to long but the last part describing my trip to Norway is now online, and the blog has had fresh coat of paint: http://a-wanderers-soul.blogspot.com
Haha, you skipped fare on the bus I understand man, it's expensive for anyone not living here. It would have been embarrasing and very expensive if you got caught though, over 100€ I think it is. But you could just fake it and say you are ignorant tourists and they would let you go
Nice shots of the Folke-museum. It's the kind of place everyone here has to go to as a kid with their school, but probably not again - or until they have kids of their own. I've not even been there for 20 years even though it's a 10 minute bus trip from here.
Way too late but Solveig could very well have been it!
As for the bus-fare, that's what we were betting on haha. Claiming to be the 'ignorant tourist'
Interesting news on my blog today: a hitchhiking documentary that was previously only viewable when paid for is temporarily free on Vimeo.
It's called "The Forest Prince and the Pig Man", and it goes into the history of hitchhiking while following a cross-country hitching trip in the U.S done by a guy called Billy Jack, while trying to answer the question: Is hitchhiking actually dangerous, or is it not?
If you are interested in my mode of travel, this is a very good watch! For more information, check out my blog here: http://a-wanderers-soul.blogspot.com/
2 years after Canada and the United States I am finally traveling again!
This time I'm in New Zealand, and have been here for nearly a week. Not much has gone on so far because of the bad weather (tons of rain, and more forecasted) though I will head out and try some hitchhiking tomorrow.
I did do some fun stuff though, and I've written my first blog post about my stay here.
For those of us with Facebook, I set up a page there for my blog. That should make it easier to follow, and I'll share some other stuff on there as well
I followed up on a suggestion I received and made an overview of all of my travels so far on a custom Google Map!
I added it to the bottom of my blog and referred to it on my Facebook page, but here is a direct link: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z7SjFJB9admk.kF2aEbIiTQ-c
It's divided into 4 routes: a short trip to Sweden in 2011, Canada and the States in 2012, Norway in 2013 and my current travels in New Zealand.
The estimated travel distance totals slightly over 10.000 kilometers of hitchhiking, though that's give or take a few hundred kilometers I guess as the lines are pretty basic. It should be pretty close though
I just updated my blog with the story of the past few months. This post in particular isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless. I also think I forgot to mention the post before this one on here, so you might want to check that out as well. http://a-wanderers-soul.blogspot.com
