German publisher DeepSilver is bringing out an ostfront WW2 game in q4 2011.
The selling point: it uses the ArmA 2 engine. And you can play on both the german and the russian side. Sounds interesting.

Here's info, sadly just in german, but I couldn't find anything in english on it yet. Still, there are three screens in the galllery at the bottom, and they look quite nice.

WOW! Am I dreaming?

It looks like the Russian guys who were doing the Liberation 1944 mod for ArmA2 decided to go all the way!
I wish them all the best! :)

My only fear is that it's going to be "slightly" unbalanced.
They're including the IS-2. :IS2:

EDIT:

Two more screenshots here!

Well, afaik the Lib mod for OFP has a rudimentary armour system already, so chances are high that we'll see some sort of penetration system in it... especially as they have licensed the engine, giving them more freedom in modifying it.

Also, icluding the IS-2 doesn't increase the chances of an armour system... it actually decreases it. Why would you need penetration calculations if nothing can even scratch the paint of the IS-2 and the holy D25-T can put a hole in anything you could imagine?

Interesting. Hopefully they can fix all of the quirks with ArmA 2 otherwise I don't see myself (and many) people buying it as it will essentially be the same thing that you can get free via countless other ArmA 2 mods.

If there are no animations to work the bolts on those bolt guns, that would kill the game for me. :p

Totally agree, plus the potential problem as a player of finding a populated server. With Invasion 1944, which is a pretty nice free mod, I usually see only @ 5 players spread over @ 10 servers. They're going to be trying to lure players from a pretty small group to pony up to buy and play.

Unless they totally change the UI, animations, netcode and complexity, I don't see them converting a lot of other WW2 realism players from other games to playing on that engine.

And I'm not a A2 hater at all, I have a great time with it. :D

From what I read in the gamestar forums it'll be ArmA WWII and even the faces are the same.

please let this be only rumours :(

the screens look awesome and the announcements' kinda promising IMO, but if it would be exactly the same gameplay as ArmA2s it would simply ruin the game for me. To me ArmA always felt too clunky. The movement and firefights just didn't feel right, not to mention the horrible command system.
