3D & Animation Player Model Problems

Hi there, I just started today on playing around with 3ds Max and the KF SDK, and had tried to fiddle around with it for a custom player model replacement.

And just a bit of a heads up, yes the model itself is somewhat "anime" related but that's not the issue here.

I have followed this tutorial on custom player models:
http://***********.com/en/sozdanie-novoj-modeli-igroka-v-unreal-engine.html

But I've gotten up to around Step 6 with a problem, the .psk file doesn't like to fuse with the .psa animations. And the error is this once the SDK freezes and I close it:

Build UT2004_Build_[2004-11-11_10.48]

OS: Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7600)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2660 MHz with 4095MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (1070)

General protection fault!

History: movementDigest <- UEditorEngine::Exec_Anim <- UEditorEngine::Exec <- (NEWANIM IMPORT FILE="C:\Users\*****\Desktop\Umodel\KF_Soldier_Trip\MeshAnimati).. <- UUnrealEdEngine::Exec <- WBrowserAnimation::OnCommand <- WWindow::WndProc <- WWindow::StaticProc <- UEditorEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

Some progress pictures... somewhat:

I'd be glad if anyone can help me out, I can provide some of the source files if needed.

No, I've only used the rotate tool to make it fit somewhat I think. I don't think I even resized any bones for any matter...

EDIT:

Didn't want to double post, but I didn't really follow the tutorial right because of the misinterpretation of it. I've experimented and realized that the bones don't actually connect with the model itself.. is this called rigging or something?

Well to have weighted your bones, you have to connect the bones to the model.

I've connected the model to the bones, now I'm just putting weight on each little vertices... and it's a pain.

Even more so when I realized that the torso clothing has it's own vertices than the torso itself... damn it.

Hatsune Miku seems intrigued by your dilemma.

Miku doesn't like to rig. :/

i love teto, she just better not look "normal" and look to "kawaii" >_>

I wouldn't know about that, but I'm done adjusting the weight of the model (As far as I can prevent the stretches/deformities.)

But like I said before, importing the .psk into the editor doesn't cause problems, it's importing the animations themselves that makes it crash. :/

EDIT: Asked a friend to do what I tried to do, was successful on importiing both the .psk and .psa files, but having trouble connecting the animations still:
