Tactics support vs scrake: jump+hsg

Check out the Killing Floor Wiki.

Shows health points overall, and Head points as well.

Headshots to the Noggin' to this Zed is quite effective.

It Depends on which weapon your using, as to how much Damage it will do.
KF vets will tell you to use the Hunting Shotgun Alt-Fire up close to kill most zeds on any difficulty, minus maybe the FP, but that tactic can be enhanced by throwing grenades to damage the FP/SC before its gets up and personal.

No...HOE.

If it works in HOE, it should work in Normal.

Grenading a scrake is a terrible idea and should only be done in emergencies (basically, the M32 or if you need to delay him while you reload). If you need to soften him up, do it carefully with another shotgun.

Fps can be taken with grenades and the HSG, but you need to practise and know what you are doing. You can't just throw a few and hope for the best, at least not on Hoe.

As far as I can tell, if you bounce a scrake into the air, it'll break his stun as well? That's my hypothesis anyways, as I've seen him break out of a stun after explosives... but sometimes he doesn't.

But yea. Grenade smoke = not helping for killing big nasties. Unless you can be sure your grenades will kill it, they're generally not a great idea.

Throwing grenades at a slow pace Scrake is silly at best. Do this at the Hell on Earth 6 player and next thing you feel will be the cold, vibrating steel to the face.
A single boomstick headshot at a 6p HoE Scrake will hit (1000 dual shots base damage+60% support damage bonus from level6*1.65 headshot multiplier = 2,6k while standing from a headshot) really close to the Scrake's head health(2,8k on 6player) but he'll be still at large and angry.
Throwing grenades won't damage his head health in anyway, you should pre-damage his head by taking a few (2-3) regular Shotgun shots instead.
If you just throw a few grenades to FP without trying to speedkill, he'll just avoid them in open areas and won't take enough damage to quickly fall, eventually it will enrage and loose his wrath upon the closest chump on your team

To OP; try to stand still while taking the jumpshot. When playing in a real game it would make you panic and backpedal or perform a forward jump. Try to stand perfectly still, once you sure there are enough distance within' Scrake and you.
