PC Steam Overlay no longer working after latest update.

Reproducibility: Every day. At least once a game.

Summary: Any Map, Any Server.

Description:
I guess I could have given a description.

I also have an issue where the game is actually Alt+tabbing me out of the game mid game. Bringing it into windowed-fullscreen and none of my keys work causing me to die iwhile I alt+tab back into the game.
The Steam overlay will randomly pop up and I cant see my cursor. And the GUI doesn't reconize my cursor either to close it.

After dying numerous times, I wanted to break my keyboard today.
It wasn't until after I troubleshooted for like 12 hours and came to the conclusion that it was only KF2.


I have no other problems with any other FPS in Steam.
No problems with any games in Origin.
No Problems With GoG.
No problems with any games on Uplay.
No problems with any of the games outside of these launchers.

Just KF2.

I have nothing running but the game. I have updated my BIOS, My GPU drivers to current NVidia, even went as far as reinstalling and checking integrity.

It happens on all the maps. Offline as well as online.

I don't know what else to do?

See if it's actually enabled for the game, so far i had no issue with the overlay since launch

Be sure no other programs that run in the background do not mess with Steam or the game's overlay. Thing like TeamSpeak plugins, video recording softwares, can break the Steam overlay..

Yes. Yes I was. But if I disable the overlay all together (which I did) then this shouldn't matter either way.

Just disabled beta participation. Re-enabled the overlay. Re-booted Steam. And it still wont allow me to invite friends or look at my achievements et cetra.

I was having the same problem, fixed it by closing/modifying other software but I do not know which change fixed my overlay. (will come back with an edit if I find out later)

1. closed RAZER synapse because it has overlays

2. (if you own it) Deskscapes, set desktop to a static desktop background

3. (if you own it) Fences, disabled quick-hide function

FRAPS is another known program to conflict with the Steam overlay.

Overwolf too on some games. As well as other overlay plugins for teamspeak.
