I went out and upgraded my hard drive to a SSD, put both my OS and RS on it... And I still get low fps and lag. My fps averages under 8 most of the time on 64 players servers. My computer is well more than capable to max this game out or close enough to it.

Core i5 2500k
8 gb RAM
SSD (both OS and RS are on it!)
Windows 7 ultimate
If you are a hardware elitest/snob and are going to tell me how much of a dinosaur my 3 year-old computer is, then feel no need to apply. I tried my SETTINGS ON LOWEST AND STILL GET BELOW 8 FPS.
This game is completely unplayable. And no it is not my computer (and I JUST did a complete format and reinstall of EVERYTHING less than 4 hours ago)

Hey guys,

I'm getting a new bug since the May 24 patch where if the enemy caps the area I'm defending (one of the non-recapturable zones) and I get the "return to the front" message, the red overlay and the message remain over my screen even if I run all the way back to the next objective. The counter counts down to 0:00 and stays there. The red overlay and frozen counter stays on my screen until I get shot and then my vision returns to normal with the respawn. I have experienced this on Iwo Jima and Hanto. It seems as though being under fire/injured at the time I receive the message causes/contributes to the problem. I heard another couple guys over VOIP having the same issue. I said I would report it. Apologies if this has been mentioned before (I didn't see any thread about it).
This has lead me to believe that there is somewhere a combined arms variant that I am either not aware of, or is not released yet.
Thanks in advance.

First I want to say that I REALLY want to like the shotgun (which is why I'm bothering to post this). It looks good and has nice animations; but using it feels like a huge handicap.

I usually get 20-30 kills in an average game with an automatic weapon. I'm lucky to get over a dozen with the shotgun.

The range is limited (obviously), but even in close quarters you're far better off with an automatic weapon. Hip firing the shotgun feels inconsistent while it's easy to make hits while hip firing the autos. It can't even 1 hit kill a banzaing Jap at close range with a shot to the chest and by the time you've shucked in another shell, the guy's on top of you and you're dead anyway.

You might as well use the bolt action rifle. Sure the shotgun will give you a slight advantage in CQB; but at least you can be effective against the enemy the other 75% of the game.

:(

I'm trying to setup a dedicated server for the first time, using the steamcmd and following the wiki page, but for the life of me I can't get anything to work. I download the game server files using Steam, and it's all there, but when I try to run the ROServer.bat file, it returns to the command line but it doesn't look like anything has started. There aren't any "rogame.exe" processes running, nor any services installed. Also, no error messages are displayed anywhere, and I can't find any log files.

The wiki talks about an rogame.ini file to setup, but I can't find that anywhere either. It looks like that file has been broken apart into Default*.ini files, maybe? Am I supposed to create an rogame.ini file? Am I looking in the wrong place? I tried creating my own file with a setting in it, and that didn't seem to do anything.

My dedicated server is running WinXP (32) SP3 with 1GB RAM. Am I not meeting some specification? When I try just double-clicking on rogame.exe, I get a message about "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.", if that helps.

I really wish this thing would spit out some error messages...Thanks for any suggestions.
